  • October 29, 2015 - Lesbos, Greece - Syrian and many Afghan migrants / refugees arrive from Turkey on boat through sea with cold water near Molyvos, Lesbos on overloaded dinghies. Leaving Syria or Afghanistan or Iraq because of the war. They are all trying to reach northern Europe like Germany or Sweden. In October of 2015 the average arrival of refugees in Greece was about 5500 people per day. There were days with 7000 people on low quality boats. Also many people died as their boat / dinghy sunk or run out of fuel and they were exhausted on overloaded boats.
