The 33-year-old model and mother-of-two strikes a series of alluring poses in the campaign for the QUAY X CHRISSY line — a full range of blue light glasses and sunglasses, now available online. Quay — which is pronounced ‘key’ — picked Chrissy to be the face of the brand’s global 'Education is Quay' campaign, which clarifies how to say the brand’s name and also puts the blue light filtering glasses center stage. Quay CEO Jodi Bricker said of the collaboration: ‘We reached out to Chrissy because she's a role model for authentic self-expression, with a huge range of dynamic roles - mother, entrepreneur, philanthropist, comedienne, entertainer - who pays it forward to empower millions of others across the globe.’ Bricker added: ‘When we're looking at partners, it's important to us that we're aligning with people who share the passion and sense of confidence that's so integral to our identity - and Chrissy has mastered that art over the years. We're a brand with a large online presence, and it's our responsibility to foster an open environment of self-expression for our community - online and out in the world.’ As part of the multi-deal partnership, the brand released a new collection - comprised of Quay's best-selling frames in all-new, muted retro tones. The glasses are priced at AUD $60-$70 per pair, putting them in the affordable price bracket. Teigen said: ‘I've come across Quay a number of times over the years through friends, so when the opportunity to partner came up, it felt right. • *PREMIUM EXCLUSIVE* Real Housewife of New Jersey Teresa Giudice hits the beach with hunky young companion Blake Schreck. The pair lazed on loungers at a South Beach, Miami, hotel, and later shared a bottle of rose wine over lunch inside the hotel. Teresa, 46, is reported to have become close friends with the young beau while husband of nearly 20 years, Joe, serves a 41-month prison sentence for mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud, before being deported to his native Italy. Meanwhile, it seems the mother of his four daughters is moving on with her life. On Saturday, Teresa and Blake, who’s 26 yrs old, met up at the swanky Coral Gables Country Club and left with friends at about 11.30pm. Teresa showed off her fabulous figure in a full-length and strapless black evening gown, while Blake wore a back shirt and matching bow tie, black pants, red suspenders, and loafers. They hopped out of the car close to the SLS LUX hotel in the Brickell business district, and disappeared inside. Thirty minutes later, they re-emerged, jumped into an Uber and sped off towards a rented condo, where Teresa and her party have been staying. She instagrammed a photo of herself at the condo’s rooftop pool. The previous day, Teresa looked amazing in a plunging one-piece swimsuit as she strolled along the shore at South Beach in the blazing sunshine. News of her friendship with Blake comes as she prepares to reunite with her Jersey co-stars for the long-awaited Season 9 reunion, later this month, where she is expected be clash with co-star Jackie Goldschneider. • June 3, 2017 - inconnu - The studio responsible for creating more than 100 designs for car maker Ferrari has revealed its first super-yacht.The Aurea by Italian studio Pininfarina, will have a huge beach club area and two swimming pools – one with transparent walls. And the engine is fixed in the centre of the vessel freeing up rear access to the water and creating more deck space.Pininfarina has joined forces with the Rossinavi boatyard for the 70 metre-long Aurea which is powered by a diesel electric hybrid engine. It will focus on the lifestyle of the owner and guests with a record size beach club for a ship of its size. Aurea’s stern include two swimming pools, three large outdoor decks and water-level access on both sides of the hull. The design is available now for any prospective clients. The curvature of the design theme was created to offer what Pininfarina describes as “ new and unexpected opportunities to employ and enjoy the spaces and maximizing the thrill of sailing and life on board. “At the level of the owner's deck, for example, terraces protected by windows open at the center of the ship giving a direct view to the bow.The boat's shape is harmonious and dynamic at the same time thanks to elliptical bands that characterise the superstructures linking the decks. The upper band, for example, frames the bridge and then goes downstairs, harmoniously joining the owner's deck, creating a lavish scenic effect that integrates the outer connecting staircases to the upper deck. The main part of the main deck hosts guest cabins. Here is a longitudinal balcony covered with a folding bulwark offers guests an outdoor private space during cruising and when moored in harbor. The hull’s shape is also suitably shaped by integrating the longitudinal balcony with large panoramic windows on the world. The hull has a chamfered shape running from the bow to the stern. It frames a staircase with a detail inspired by the shapes of nature and at th

  • August 3, 2017 - inconnu - Personal devices like smartphones and computer tablets could soon be powered by energy harvested by the owner’s sunglasses.Researchers’ from Germany's Karlsruhe Institute of Technology have created a pair of sunglasses that generate electricity via solar cells that double as their lenses.Organic solar cells were chosen instead of more traditional silicon cells because they're transparent, flexible, lightweight, and can be manufactured in a variety of shapes and colours. Each solar cell lens weighs about six grams, is 1.6 mm thick, and was made to fit into a set of commercially-produced sunglass frames. The frames feature added electronics in the arms, including a microprocessor, two sensors and two displays. The lenses power those electronics, which measure and display the current illumination intensity and ambient temperature as bar graphs.Although they work best in direct sunlight, each lens is still able to generate 200 microwatts of power under indoor illumination as low as 500 lux, which is about the average lighting for most offices or living areas. That 200 microwatts is enough to power a device such as a hearing aid or a step counter. The technology could conceivably also be applied to the windows of buildings, where it would generate much more power.Head of Organic Photovoltaics Group at the institute’s Light Technology department Dr. Alexander Colsmann said:” “We bring solar power to places where other solar technologies fail.”According to Colsmann, another field of application is the integration of solar cells into buildings.Since the glass facades of many high-rise buildings must often be shaded, he called it “ an obvious option “ to use organic solar modules for transforming the absorbed light into electric power. PhD student Dominik Landerer who largely contributed to the development of the solar glasses , added: “The Solar Glasses we developed are an example of how organi

  • Few of the Universe’s residents are as iconic as the spiral galaxy. These limelight-hogging celestial objects combine whirling, pinwheeling arms with scatterings of sparkling stars, glowing bursts of gas, and dark, weaving lanes of cosmic dust, creating truly awesome scenes — especially when viewed through a telescope such as the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. In fact, this image from Hubble frames a perfect spiral specimen: the stunning NGC 2903. NGC 2903 is located about 30 million light-years away in the constellation of Leo (The Lion), and was studied as part of a Hubble survey of the central regions of roughly 145 nearby disc galaxies. This study aimed to help astronomers better understand the relationship between the black holes that lurk at the cores of galaxies like these, and the rugby-ball-shaped bulge of stars, gas, and dust at the galaxy’s centre — such as that seen in this image.
