  • A Los Angeles Coroner's report says cocaine, methadone, heroin and ecstasy were in Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher's system when she died in December 2016. The coroner's report listed sleep apnea as the primary cause of death with drug intake as a contributing factor. The report stated Fisher's family objected to a full autposy and coroner's investigators had access to limited toxicology specimens. Fisher died on December 27 four days after going into cardiac arrest on a flight arriving at LAX from London. The report states Fisher's assistant was on the plane with her and the assistant reported she was awake and normal at the start of the flight but had "multiple apneic episodes, which was her baseline" during the journey. The report states Fisher may have taken the cocaine as early as three days before the flight. Fisher's mother Debbie Reynolds died the day after her daughter. 19 Jun 2017 Pictured: Los Angeles County Coroner report on Carrie Fisher's death. • EXCLUSIVE: This grotesque creature has been dubbed a ‘porkey’ by islanders in Barbados after it was born resembling a cross between a pig and a monkey. Pig farmer Daphne Boyce said she was left shocked at the sight which confronted her when she went to check on her sow, which had just given birth to 12 piglets. “One of the piglets was acting strange and not mixing with the others,” said 75-year-old Daphne. “I prodded it with a stick to try to turn it over because it was keeping on one side. When it turned over, I said ‘No! This got to be a monkey face.’ "I called my brother and I said, ‘Roger, Roger, this pig looks like a monkey.’" Mrs Boyce is convinced one of the wild Green Monkeys that roams the area must have had its way with her pregnant sow. “I don’t see any other explanation,” she said. Mrs Boyce said the creatures eyes were close to the forehead 'like a monkey’s,' while it had 'one pig ear and one monkey’s ear.' “It didn’t have a snout but a mouth just like a monkey,” she said. Mrs Boyce’s brother, Roger Feliciano, who took photos of the strange-looking creature with his cellphone, said he tried to feed it milk with a baby bottle, but was not successful. The animal died after four days. Mrs Boyce said she could not stop the monkeys from “monkeying around” with her pigs since they were rampant in her neighbourhood. “They all up on the roof,” she added. "I got a mango tree there and they eat all the mangoes. When people ask me why I don’t have any mangoes in the tree, I tell them the tree belong to the monkeys.” Mrs Boyce said this was not the first time monkeys had dabbled with other animals on the Caribbean island. She recalled one of her friends having a 'monkey sheep' a few years ago. The green monkeys found in Barbados originally came from Senegal and the Gambia in West Africa approximately 350 years ago. 27 May 2018 Pictured: Porkey. • November 11, 2016 - Mosul, Nineveh, Iraq - 11/11/2016. Mosul, Iraq. A male resident of Mosul's Al Antisar district talks to an Iraqi Police officer, as locals queue for food handouts from local volunteers. The Al Intisar district was taken four days ago by Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) and, despite its proximity to ongoing fighting between ISF and ISIS militants, many residents still live in the settlement without regular power and water and with dwindling food supplies...The battle to retake Mosul, which fell June 2014, started on the 16th of October 2016 with Iraqi Security Forces eventually reaching the city on the 1st of November. Since then elements of the Iraq Army and Police have succeeded in pushing into the city and retaking several neighbourhoods allowing civilians living there to be evacuated - though many more remain trapped within Mosul. • Meet the BingwaBunch - a record-breaking litter of cheetah cubs who have just turned one. The five girls and four boys are named for the numbers one through eight in Swahili: Moja, Mbili, Tatu, Nne, Tano, Sita, Saba, and Nane. Born on November 26, 2017, the eight cubs were the largest litter ever raised by a cheetah in an American Zoo. The average litter size is just three. The eight cubs, who are now almost fully grown, are known as the BingwaBunch after their adoring mother Bingwa, while their father is called Jason. Despite the daunting task of raising eight boisterous cubs, Bingwa and Jason have excelled as parents, and, along with the help of keepers at Saint Louis Zoo, they have managed to raise a healthy set of octuplets. The cubs now spend their days playing in their stunning enclosure as the lucky staff has the pleasure of witnessing their personalities emerge. Steve Bircher, Curator of Mammals, said: "We have a couple that might be bolder than others with the way they play with their enrichment or the way they chase one and other. We are starting to see these difference in personalities. Just like us, they have distinct personalities." Now, to mark their first birthday, the Saint Louis Zoo has released these stunning images, which chart the early life of this unique litter of cheetahs. ***Please note, must credit Saint Louis Zoo***. 27 Nov 2018 Pictured: The BingwaBunch the largest litter of cheetah cubs in North America Born at St Louis Zoo. • A urology doctor delivered a baby boy during an eight-hour Air France flight from Paris to New York. Dr Sij Hemal, 27, was moments away from enjoying a glass of champagne in first class when he had to jump into action after 41-year-old passenger Toyin Ogundipe went into labor. Dr Hemal, a second-year urology resident at Cleveland Clinic’s Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute, safely delivered the baby — who was named Jake — before tying the umbilical cord with a makeshift surgical clamp… a shoe string. By chance, Dr Hemal had been seated next to a French pediatrician Dr. Susan Shepherd, who was able to help and gave the baby boy a clean bill of health upon delivery. Dr Hemal had been on a day-long journey from New Delhi, India, when the drama unfolded, and was making his way back to the U.S. after attending his best friend’s wedding the day before. “I was pretty tired from jet lag,” Dr Hemal said. “I thought I’d just have a drink and fall asleep. As it turned out, I’m glad I didn’t drink anything.” Ms Ogundipe, a banker who resides between the UK and Nigeria, was traveling with her four-year-old daughter Amy when she suddenly went into labor about midway into the December 17 flight, just as the jet skirted the southern coast of Greenland, 35,000 feet below. An emergency landing would have required a two-hour diversion to a U.S. military base in the Azores Islands, so Dr. Hemal recommended to the pilot they continue to JFK International Airport, which was still four hours away. “Her contractions were about 10 minutes apart, so the pediatrician and I began to monitor her vital signs and keep her comfortable,” Dr Hemal explained. The doctors used instruments and supplies in the flight’s scanty medical kit to routinely check Ms Ogundipe’s vital signs, including blood pressure, oxygen rate and pulse. But within the course of an hour, Toyin’s contractions accelerated; they occurred seven, then five and finally two minutes apart. “T
