• July 17, 2016 - Lusaka, Zambia - A woman picks ripe cherries of coffee at the plantation of Mubuyu Farm, Zambia. This method of harvesting by hands called ‘selective picking’. More than 80 pickers are seasonal workers from the nearest village. They work from April to September, during the dry season. One worker can pick 100 kilograms of cherries per day..Mubuyu farm is the largest producer of coffee in Zambia and the only private one. It belongs to Willem Lublinkhof who came to the country 45 years ago with the Dutch development service. Because coffee products are not very popular among Zambians, the bulk of it goes for export. There are 65 hectares of land under the coffee plantation today instead of 300 hectares in 2009. The manager of the coffee production Monday Chilanga says that the main reason of the reducing is very low prices for coffee. (Credit Image: © Oleksandr Rupeta/NurPhoto via ZUMA Press)

 • Pete Wentz releases a photo on Instagram with the following caption: "I don’t have an end of the year list but I Sat in the cold dry pure mountain air and thought through the last year. It’s Hard to quantify my best moments. Life is long and short all at once, the days drag and the years race by. Luck is all around us, swirling both good and bad- but it
Is up to us to be ready to take a swing if our number gets called. I don’t believe in coincidences but If I keep getting bumped by the universe in the same place I perk up. “New year, same me” is a tough rut. You don’t have to defeat it all at once but it does feel nice to pick up your own version of thor’s hammer - a weapon that only you can wield. No one emerges unscarred but pick it up and take a swing anyway. Drink more water, take it easy on yourself. Fear is ok because you can not really displace it... there are however words sung in a certain order than can bring us to leap anyway in spite of it.
You gotta allow room to grow into your own greatness.
Love is important. Let the spirit move you. Happy 2019.". • A "Joy Market" in Jamestown, Stellenbosch, on June 16, 2020. Here people stood in social-distancing lines to pick out free, donated clothing. The market was
organized by a joint Jamestown community taskforce formed in response to families in need during lockdown due to COVID-19. June 16 is Youth Day in South Africa, a public holiday that commemorates the Soweto uprising of 1976. “We responded to the call during lockdown. Our first priority was the kids,” said Arnold Okkers, executive director of Usiko, a Jamestown youth organization. When lockdown started, Usiko began by providing lunch for the 120 kids the organization normally looks after in after-school programs. “Within a week, it doubled to 250,” adds Okkers. The feeding scheme quickly grew to a joint community volunteer effort. The Jamestown volunteer taskforce and supporters have been feeding about 400 people per day here, as many people lost their jobs during lockdown. Okkers says they will be able to scale back the feeding scheme a little bit now, as people have been able to return to work during Level 3 of lockdown. “More and more people are able to care for themselves,” he says. • Newly released images of the Sun have revealed that its outer layer is filled with previously unseen, incredibly fine magnetic threads filled with extremely hot, million-degree plasma. The high-resolution observations have been analysed by researchers at UCLan alongside collaborators from NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Centre (MSFC) and will provide astronomers with a better understanding of how the Sun’s magnetised atmosphere exists, and what it is comprised of.

Until now, certain parts of the Sun’s atmosphere had appeared dark or mostly empty, but new images have revealed strands that are around 500km in width - roughly the distance between London and Belfast - with hot electrified gases flowing inside them.

The ultra-sharp images were taken by NASA’s High-Resolution Coronal Imager (or Hi-C for short), a unique astronomical telescope carried into space on a sub-orbital rocket flight. The telescope can pick out structures in the Sun’s atmosphere as small as 70km in size, or around 0.01% the size of the Sun, making these the highest resolution images ever taken of the Sun’s atmosphere.
