• EXCLUSIVE: Rihanna’s own uncle has been charged with selling ‘knocked-off’ goods from his famous niece’s Puma clothing line in the star’s home nation of Barbados. Leroy Fitzgerald Brathwaite, 53, a Bajun artist who uses the stage name, De Warrior, has denied the charges, filed under the Fair Trading Commission’s (FTC) Consumer Protection Act. Police say Rihanna herself noticed the knock-offs of her hugely popular Puma brand being sold in a store in the island’s capital Bridgetown when she last visited the island. She reported the matter to her Puma representative, who flew into the island and filed a police complaint. But Brathwaite’s defence attorney is contending that the charges were improperly laid and should be dismissed. 22 Nov 2017 Pictured: Rihanna’s uncle 53 year old Leroy Fitzgerald Brathwaite has been charged for selling knocked-off from his niece Puma line. • EXCLUSIVE: Meghan Markle's pioneering great-great uncle was reportedly a professional baseball player who never got to play in the major league because he was black. William Demont 'Happy' Evans Jr, played for the prestigious Homestead Grays in the American Negro League, for black players when US baseball was segregated. Evan’s Grandson, William Demont Evans IV described how Meghan’s relative was one of the true greats. Speaking at his home in Pomona, southern California, Evans, 61, told the Mail Online: "Bill Evans played against the great Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. He actually told me that Josh Gibson [his Homestead Grays teammate] was a better hitter than the great Babe Ruth. "Gibson was the catcher on the Grays and had one of the best RBIs in the league, white or black. "The 1930-31 Homestead Grays were supposed to be one of the greatest teams ever, that year they even played against a white All-Star team with the best Major League players and beat them. "Soon after that the White All-Stars didn't want to play them anymore. My grandfather said that many negro players if they were white would have been the All-Star players of the Major League.". 15 Jun 2018 Pictured: William Demont 'Happy' Evans Jr,. Fenty, 29, is accused of attacking Lee-Ann Lingo, while at an event on the party boat M.V. Dream Chaser, moored in the island’s capital, Bridgetown, on January 20. The younger brother of the pop superstar is also accused of punching Andrew Thornton later that same day before he was arrested and charged with actual bodily harm. The two alleged victims are both members of the same tennis club on the island. • RAFFAELE MASTROGIUSEPPE was a father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was also a hardworking man who didn’t deserve to die the way he did. Like many before him, and many after him, Raffaele has become another statistic in South Africa — a victim of another senseless murder; another South African farm attack, leaving yet another family torn apart!
"He spent the last 50 years working as an engineer and a farmer,” daughter Doriana tells us during this difficult time. "He was passionate, extremely hard-working and a perfectionist in everything he did. He had a profound love and endearment for his family. His compassion and gentle nature enriched the lives of all those who had the honour of meeting him, working with him or for him. He had a heart of gold, a strong moral compass and selflessness that shall resonate in our lives for all of eternity."
But sadly, none of that mattered to the perpetrators who entered his home and took his life on October 2. It was just another day for the 69-year-old, who came to South Africa from Italy at the age of 19, and who, since getting divorced, lived on his own on his farm in Heidelberg.
“Being the hard worker that he was, my uncle left his engineering plant located on the farm at 21h15 after working on a machine,” explains niece Paola. "He walked home, as his farmhouse was only 500 metres away. When he got inside he made himself dinner and then walked to the kitchen where he started to make a cup of tea. By this time we estimate that the incident took place between 22h00 and 22h30.”
Raffaele was then reportedly shot in the stomach through the window. “He ran towards the stairs as the perpetrators broke in and continued to shoot him in the back,” Paola explains. “He was completely ambushed and did not make it into his bedroom. The final shot was to the head where they made sure they finished the job.” Paola adds, “Six bullet casings were found on the scene and my uncle took the four shots.”
• August 13, 2017 - Dhaka, Bangladesh - Donald Trump’s fanbase in Dhaka, Bangladesh now has an official hangout spot — a restaurant here which has been named Trump Cafe in the US President’s honour. Saiful Islam, a Bangladeshi entrepreneur and a big fan of Trump, founded the cafe and decided to use the President’s name for his coffee shop in Dhaka. Bringing his idea to fruition was not easy. Saiful had to prove to the authorities that he was the real owner of the business and the President had nothing to do with it. The ‘Trump Cafe’ offers Chinese, Indian and Thai cuisine and other fast food items on its menu. “I did not start the business with any specific thought in mind, just the fact that I am a big fan of US President Donald Trump,” Saiful was quoted as saying..Along with other regular favorites, the cafe also serves some food items inspired by Trump such as the special Trump Cocktail or the Green Apple Mocktail. “My uncle, Kabir Ali, is the manager at a Trump-owned restaurant in the US. It was initially his idea to start a restaurant, and since I am a big fan as well, I wanted to get involved in the venture,” said Saiful. Even though Trump remains unaware of the existence of the restaurant and bears no connection to it, Saiful is happy to be a part of the restaurant named after Trump, the report said..“Many people think he is a joke, but he is an inspiration for me. If you look at his business ventures, you will see that he is quite successful and shrewd at doing business. That is what inspires me,” Saiful said. One of the attractions of the cafe is a Trump cutout that people can take pictures with.Even the cafe’s wifi password is named after a Trump family member, the report said. Despite formally opening more than two months ago, the owners are planning a grand opening within the next two months. (Credit Image: © Azim Khan Ronnie/Pacific Press via ZUMA Wire)
