  • Drew Barrymore looks unrecognizable while filming her latest movie project "THE STAND-IN" in Manhattan's East Village area and later filming in the early morning hours of Saturday in an almost empty Times Square. "THE STAND-IN" tells the story of a disaffected comedy actress and her ambitious stand-in trading places, both played by Drew Barrymore. Candy is a washed-up movie star, busted for a tax evasion, who hires her unemployed, adoring stand-in Paula to do community service in her place. However, a weird co-dependent relationship ensues as Candy begins to use Paula as a stand- in in all parts of her life to escape from the stressful demands of fame. Eventually, Paula starts to take over Candy’s identity, career and boyfriend, finally kicking Candy out of her own house, where she is forced to survive in the real world for the first time while Paula lives the celebrity life of her dreams, until her boyfriend discovers the truth about the woman he’s sleeping with. 16 Feb 2019 Pictured: Drew Barrymore. • It was a tale that warmed hearts around the world — a homeless vet forking over his last $20 to help a distressed driver gas up her car in the dead of night. But the truth is more stomach-turner than heart-warmer. The hero, the woman he “saved” and her boyfriend were a trio of scam artists who knew each other for a month before the so-called chance encounter — and the $400,000 they raised on GoFundMe was blown on luxury items and gambling trips that included a lavish New Year’s trip to Las Vegas, officials said Thursday. “The entire campaign was predicated on a lie,” said Burlington County, NJ, prosecutor Scott Coffina in announcing criminal charges against couple Mark D’Amico and Kate McClure and vagrant Johnny Bobbitt. “[McClure] did not run out of gas on an I-95 off-ramp, and [Bobbitt] did not spend his last $20 to help her,” Coffina said. “Rather, D’Amico, McClure and Bobbitt conspired to fabricate and promote a feel-good story that would compel donors to contribute to their cause.” **NO NEW YORK DAILY NEWS, NO NEW YORK TIMES, NO NEWSDAY**. 15 Nov 2018 Pictured: Scott Coffina. • Oct 07, 2009 - London, England, UK - 'I will never forgive Polanski. I'm telling the truth and Roman knows it': Actress Charlotte Lewis claims she was abused by director when she was 16 It has been a long time since Charlotte Lewis held a crowd enthralled in Hollywood. But if she ever dreamed of a return to Los Angeles, where as a young actress she was hailed as a 'golden child' Ð talented, exquisitely beautiful and with a film career unfurling before her Ð it would never have been like this. On Friday, Charlotte, now 42, called a Press conference in Los Angeles to claim that director Roman Polanski, the man who gave her her first break, had abused her, 'in the worst possible way' when she was just 16 years old. Polanski is currently under house arrest in Gstaad in Switzerland under threat of extradition to America to face charges of an alleged rape of a 13-year-old in 1977. His alleged victim, Samantha Geimer, has said she has no desire to see him stand trial as she simply wants to get on with the life she subsequently built. But 27 years after their first meeting, Charlotte feels very differently. She wants him to 'get what he deserves', she says and has given a statement to prosecutors in Los Angeles. Now, in an exclusive interview with The Mail on Sunday, Charlotte explains why she has chosen to speak up now Ð against not just Polanski, but against Hollywood itself She says: 'I know I should have gone to the relevant authorities at the time but I was scared and ashamed. I somehow thought it was my fault. 'I've been so angry with some of the people in Hollywood who have spoken out in support of Polanski. He has scarred me and the experience has definitely put a strain on my life. Photo Shows: Actress Charlotte Lewis, as she is today, (Credit Image: © Whitehotpix/ZUMApress.com)
