  • EXCLUSIVE: FIRST PICTURES OF ‘BUCKINGHAM PALACE’ BUILT BY TAX FRAUDSTER IN PAKISTAN These are the first pictures of a Pakistani ‘Buckingham Palace’ which now lies empty after allegedly being built by a UK fraudster. Previous aerial images of Mohammed Suleman Khan’s palatial property did not show the true extent of the jailed tax dodger’s dreams. Khan was caged in April 2014 for four years over a tax fraud of £450,000. He was sentenced to a further ten years in 2016 for refusing to pay back £2.2million. But it’s nearly 4,000 miles away in the Pakistani town of Ghorgushti, 50 miles from the capital Islamabad, Khan’s ambitions still resonate with the community, many of whom have close links to the UK. There on a two-acre site a huge construction lies mostly deserted complete with high walls and imposing turrets. According to locals in the town – known as ‘mini London’ because of its strong links to the UK – Khan allegedly bought the site for his palace around eight years ago. However, since his jailing the site has remained unfinished and become a ‘no-go area’ with around a dozen armed security guards around it. When police first investigated Khan they uncovered blueprints for a ‘Buckingham Palace’ like building in Pakistan. Plans reportedly showed a cinema, library and servants’ quarters, and private security accommodation. It was estimated the construction would have cost £2.3million, although there has been no official record of ownership. Now the luxurious surroundings of the palace appear remain but without a resident ‘Don’ as locals said Khan was known to inhabit them. One neighbor said: “If you try to get into or jump from the wall they will shoot you, they often do aerial firing at night too.” The compound is closed with wooden panels barring the front gate, it has minaret security towers on each corner, which is not unusual in such big compounds elsewhere in Pakistan. Neighbors estimated there are around 30 to 40 ro

It is not known whether 'The Situation,' who appeared in all six seasons of the MTV reality show, will be joining his former rowdy housemates in Florida, where they’re about to start filming Jersey Shore Family Vacation. • August 7, 2017 - New York City, New York, United States of America - (photo: Sachelle Babbar) At City Hall on Monday Mayor de Blasio announced a bill to impose a tax on the wealthiest New Yorkers in order to finance the long-overdue repairs, upgrades, and general maintenance of the NYC subway system. As of late, the subway system has been plagued with delays and accidents, including a June subway derailment that injured dozens. The derailment was due to the storage of loose items by MTA personnel on the tracks. ..Currently, the revitalization plan is being held up by Governor Cuomo’s office, who must approve the tax. The temporary emergency efforts to reduce delays will cost in the hundreds of millions, while the long-term revitalization plan, according to MTA chairman Joe Lhota, will amount to approximately $8 billion. • June 2, 2017 - Kolkata, West Bengal, India - The Residency tower in kolkata New Town on June 02,2017.With the announcement of the rates for taxation under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) for various goods, India is now one step closer to becoming a unified tax market. However, while the impact of GST on various sectors and goods is now known, industry experts are still divided over how GST will impact real estate going ahead as clarity on the tax slabs for services is still awaited.....According to industry experts, prima facie it looks like that there will be a neutral impact from cost perspective. Although the work contracts will attract around 12% and most of the construction material is under the 18% and 28% slab, the availability of input tax credit should neutralize the overall impact. A lot, therefore, will depend on the proper implementation and a proper system of claiming tax credits...the Real Estate Development and Regulation Act (RERA) also under implementation, developers may need to focus much more on streamlining their processes. We may expect initial teething issues, but implementation of GST should further enhance India’s attraction as an investment destination by encouraging greater transparency and ease of operation in all property deals,” says Surabhi Arora, Senior Associate Director, Research, Colliers International India.
