  • These artistic impressions reveal the inside of the world’s first luxury space hotel — which is set to go into orbit in two years time. For an out-of-this-world-price of $9.5 million dollars, guests of the Aurora Station will get to see up to 16 sunrises in one day and float in zero gravity while traversing the planet in Low Earth Orbit at a height of around 200 miles, making for stunning views. The space station can host six people at a time, including two crew members for a 12-day space adventure. The space hotel, which has been developed by US-based space technology start-up Orion Span, is set to welcome its first guests in 2022, with the station’s launch set for 2021. Frank Bunger, CEO and founder of Orion Span, said: “Our goal is to make space accessible to all.” The space station — which will be around the size of a private jet at 12 feet wide by 35 feet long — will have fun activities on board including growing food while in orbit and zero gravity ping pong. Guests, who will be able to float throughout the hotel, will also be able to have video chats to friends and family back home via high-speed wireless Internet and will receive a hero’s welcome upon their return. Mr Bunger added: “With customizable private sleeping pods, top-quality space food and luxury design details, Aurora Station is ushering in a new era of space travel, setting the bar higher than ever before.”. 24 Jan 2019 Pictured: Renderings show inside the Aurora Station, the world’s first space hotel, which is set for lift off in 2021. The new SomnaPatch is simple and – according to the recently-released results of a study – almost as accurate.Made by California-based Somnarus, the SomnaPatch weighs less than 28 grams / one ounce. It consists of a forehead-worn disposable adhesive patch connected to a nosepiece. It is worn while the patient sleeps in their own bed, and uses integrated sensors to measure and record factors such as nasal pressure, blood oxygen saturation, heart rate, respiratory effort, sleep duration and changes in body position. As part of its efforts to obtain US Food and Drug Administration approval, Somnarus conducted a study of the device at three US sleep clinics last year. This involved having 174 test subjects undergo standard polysomnography while also using the SomnaPatch. When the readings obtained by the two approaches were compared, they were found to be in agreement 87.4 percent of the time.Additionally, a separate home usability study found that 38 out of 39 users were able to use the device to record at least four hours of sleep, guided by nothing but the included instructions.A spokesman said:’ SomnaPatch records respiratory patterns, pulse oximetry data and estimates sleep time based on proprietary algorithms and

  • November 15, 2018 - Paradise, California, U.S.: Arrested for trying going home! Paradise resident, CHARLIE MILES, 27, was sitting cross legged on the ground in handcuffs, with state rangers around him, after being arrested for trying to go home, Thursday. Miles, was on a desolate stretch of Skyway Road about halfway between his family's home, in the devastated town of Paradise and the church shelter in Chico, where he has been sleeping on a cot. His crime was trying to go back home. Miles was trying to see if anything was left of his and his parents trailers. Miles rose on the morning of Nov. 8 at 5:45 am. “I had coffee with my parents like I always do,” he said. “Then I was brushing my teeth and I looked up at the sky and it was gray. At that point, I started packing their stuff.” The flames soon chased them. “I was forced to drag everyone off the property,” he said. “My dad was helping my mom and I was carrying their belongings. There were trees exploding. People were trying to drive their cars out but they couldn’t. We have lost absolutely everything we owned,” The officers drove him back to the Chico City limits and set him free. “They didn’t give me a ticket or anything,” Miles said. • NO WEB/NO APPS - Exclusive. (Text available) The interior of a typical home of the native community 'Palma Real', near Puerto Maldonado, Peru on July 17, 2017. Usually the house is formed by only a room used for sleeping, while the kitchen and the bathroom are outside the house. The Amazon rainforest is famous as ‘The Lung of the Earth’, but also for the presence of numerous native communities, who have always lived isolated and in close contact with nature for generations, used to seek for food and medicines and to build items directly from the environment in which they live. The unstoppable rise of globalization has drastically changed their needs, expectations and consequently their way of life. Located in the Tambopata National Reserve, on the border between Peru and Bolivia, the native Comunidad Palma Real is one of the clearest examples of this change. Living on the banks of the Madre de Dios River since approximately 1976, Palma Real comprises about 300 people part of the nomadic community Ese-Eja, established in the Amazon rainforest of Peru before the Spanish colonization. • July 27, 2017 - inconnu - Here’s the perfect way to fall sound asleep – it’s a desk-top pillow which plays music while the wearer snoozes. The Ototone pillow is designed to let workers have a power nap during their lunch break to help refresh them for the rest of their working day. Its horseshoe shape wraps around the sides of the head, and lets the user slip a pair of earphones into it through sleeves located on either side. The idea is that the user can grab a brief session of shut-eye while listening to some soothing music.Users can also set the alarm on their smartphone or MP3 player to wake them up at the appropriate time. The pillow has been created by Japanese designer Ryosuke Fuksdada for online store Timbre and will be on sale later in the year.He said:” Ototone is a product that allows you to feel comfortable sleeping on the desktop. “Taking a short nap after lunch refreshes our mind and mood for the afternoon.“If you plug the earphone into the main body and lay your head on the cushion, you can get a comfortable rest while listening to music.“ In addition, it’s a convenient way to set up the alarm clock to have a short nap.“The inner cushion, made of low repulsion foam, has a medium firmness and provides optimal support force. The cover can be removed and washed. The outer fabric of the cover is made by Danish manufacturer Kvadrat. It’s a durable material used also for the upholstering of sofas. “The inner side fabric is knitted and made in Japan. It’s soft and smooth, and ensures a comfortable contact against the skin. “Fukusada has his own design studio in Kyoto, Japan and works ith both domestic and foreign clients. # UN COUSSIN POUR SIESTER EN MUSIQUE AU BUREAU (Credit Image: © Visual via ZUMA Press)

  • June 6, 2017 - inconnu - A hammock that can be mounted on a car roof is set to make exploring a more comfortable experience. The US-designed TrailNest collapsible roof-top stand lets a hammock be used just about anywhere. The main reason is sometimes there are no trees – such as in desserts, grassy plains or snowfields. The stand gives adventurers somewhere to hitch their hammock and also provides an elevated view of the surrounding area. The stands attach to car roof bars and each stands holds up to 250 pounds in weight / just over 113 kilos.Inventor Chris Blackthorn said he got the idea after taking his hammock for a drive through the Mojave dessert. He explained it is renowned for beautiful desert vistas but not for an abundance of trees. He added:”Searching the desert, I finally found a withered trunk with just enough tenacity to suspend one end of my hammock while the other hung from my roof rack. “The view of the cloudless, starlit sky was beautiful, even if the location near my lone tree was otherwise less than ideal. “My peaceful solitude was not to last, however, as shortly after dozing off I was awakened by an inquisitive band of coyotes who were persistent enough to return repeatedly throughout the night.“Upon returning home I began to look at roof top tents, hoping to gain some separation above curious wildlife. “The idea of a tent on the warm summer nights didn’t sound much better than my sleeping platform, though.“I decided that some experiments were in order, and began the design and construction of the hammock stand.“I am finally ready to share with everyone the joy that my hammock stand has added to my overland journeys. “Pulling into camp each night, I finally feel an excitement that was previously lacking, and I can't wait to stretch out each night in a spacious hammock. “The rooftop vantage elevates me above my surroundings and I fall asleep to views that I will remember for decades

For the Bank of England VE-Day brought to an end an extraordinary effort to protect its crucial work. Adhering to the wartime spirit of 'business as usual', as many as 1,000 staff at a time in Threadneedle Street had been working two or three days in a row, sleeping overnight in the vast vaults. Those still in London would do a full day's work and then go up on the roof of the building to watch for fires started by falling bombs.

The 29-year-old aspiring musician, who goes by the name of Jon Jones, has never met Sir Tom or received so much as a telephone call, a Christmas present or a birthday card, and yet he never gives up hope that the 77-year-old pop star might one day agree to see him. Sir Tom, who returned to our TV screens last week as a judge on the latest series of The Voice UK, did not even publicly admit to having a second child until 2008, despite DNA tests proving his paternity. The former coal miner from Pontypridd in South Wales was 47 when he had a three-day fling with aspiring model Katherine Berkery, 24, after meeting her in a New York nightclub in October 1987. The married star invited her to watch his show the next night, after which they had dinner together before heading back to his suite at Manhattan’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Three months later, after Katherine had discovered she was pregnant, she phoned his office only to be told by an aide: ‘That’s showbiz, darling. Do what you have to do.’ Baby Jonathan was born on June 27, 1988, but Sir Tom, who has admitted sleeping with up to 250 women a year at the height of his fame, denied the child was his until a judge ordered him to undergo a DNA test which proved otherwise. He was subsequently ordered to pay £1,700-a-month for Jon’s upkeep for the first 18 years of his life, a drop in the ocean given his vast wealth — he is worth around £155 million. But despite paying up, Sir Tom made it clear that he wanted nothing else to do with his offspring. ‘It wasn’t something I had planned,’ said Sir Tom when he finally spoke about the matter in 2008. ‘If I had planned it, I would have done something more than just financially. But it wasn’t. I just fell for it. I just fell for the seduction.’ ‘I’d like to talk to him about normal stuff, like: “How’s your life been? This is mi

This is mi
