  • The fictional home of Pippi Longstocking, which featured in the hit 80s movie has hit the market for $750,000. The ponytailed, freckled-faced redhead captivate audiences when the Hollywood adaptation of the famous book hit our screens in 1988. Pippi, who was played by Tamara Erin, lived in the house called Villa Villekuella with her pet monkey and horse. In the film adapatation, called the New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking, Pippi makes friends with a couple of local children and the group embarks on a series of wild adventures. It became an instant cult classic but received mixed reviews from critics and eventually became a financial failure. While Tamara Erin went on to have a diverse career and finally reignited her fame by releasing a sex tape. In the movie, which is based on the famous Swedish books, the home is supposed to be set in the fictional village of Rocksby but in real life, the house is situated in Old Fernandina Beach, Florida. The 131-year-old home has hardly changed since the movie and is still painted bright green and red. It boasts four bedrooms, three bathrooms and is spread across is 2,200 square feet, which overlooks the former Spanish fort of San Carlos. It also comes with several historic features including original chandeliers and stained glass windows. The home, which is being listed by Stillwell Real Estate, was built in the 1880s for a harbor pilot and it has undergone several remodels, but has retained its unique charm. 02 May 2019 Pictured: Fictional home of Pippi Longstocking based in Florida. • EXCLUSIVE: Childhood pictures of Rihanna before she was famous. Robyn Rihanna Fenty, better known by her stage name Rihanna, was born in Barbados in 1988, to Ronald Fenty, who ran a garment warehouse, and Monica Braithwaite, an accountant. Along with her younger brother, Rihanna grew up in a troubled home. Her father was an alcoholic and a crack addict. Her childhood was deeply affected by her parents' marital problems and her dad's battle with drug and alcohol addictions, which eventually led to their divorce when she was 14. After his recovery, father and daughter grew close again and Rihanna still refers to him as the "coolest person on the planet". As a teenager Rihanna turned to music to escape her home troubles and formed a musical trio with two of her classmates. Her big break came in 2003 when friends introduced her and fellow bandmates to record producer Evan Rogers, who was on holiday in Barnados with his wife. When the group auditioned for Evan, he later said that "the minute Rihanna walked into the room, it was like the other two girls didn't exist." Over the course of the next year, Rihanna travelled to Rogers' home in Connecticut to work on her demo album. With the help of songwriter Carl Sturken she made a four-song demo that included "Pon de Replay" which would become her first hit single. Rihanna officially relocated when she was 16. "When I left Barbados, I didn't look back," she said. "I wanted to do what I had to do, even if it meant moving to America." Soon after, her demo fell into the hands of recording company Def Jam. She auditioned for them and legendary rapper Jay-Z, who was so impressed he signed her almost immediately. Eight months later Rihanna released her debut album, Music of the Sun, which went platinum despite less-than-rave reviews from Rolling Stone magazine who deemed it "lacking of ingenuity and rhythm." Date of pictures unknown but it's believed Rihanna was about 12 years old. 18 Oct 2017 Pictured: Rihanna. Photo credit: MEGA

  • This is the Nevada prison former NFL star O.J. Simpson is hoping he will be released from on parole from after languishing there for nine years on armed robbery and kidnapping felonies. The 70-year-old felon, a sports icon of his day, has been serving a 33 year sentence at Lovelock Correctional Center since 2008, but is now eligible for parole. On Thursday (July 20) the Nevada Board Of Parole will convene to consider the case and if the hearing goes to plan Simpson could be released as early as October 1. These photos show the typical quarters Simpson is living in at the 1,680-inmate facility, which first opened in 1995 and has a staff of more than 200 corrections officers. Other facilities include an indoor basketball court — providing an opportunity for “The Juice” to show off some of his sporting prowess to fellow inmates. Simpson entered Lovelock in 2008 after being convicted for the 2007 robbery of sport memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas. In 2016 former corrections officer Jeffrey Felix released a book about his relationship with Simpson at Lovelock, titled “Guarding The Juice.” In the book he recalled a saga of an illicit cookie shortly after Simpson arrived, in which an inmate working in the kitchens stole cookies and brought them back to the unit where Simpson was. According to Felix, Simpson ate the cookie in plain view and was written up over the incident. However, Felix says he managed to convince the female guard to tear up the report, saying she would forever been known as “the cookie monster”. This decision could ultimately help Simpson at this parole review this week, Felix has surmised. Earlier in 1995, Simpson was acquitted of the double murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman during length legal proceedings that were dubbed “the trial of the Century.” Simpson was found liable for the killings two years later in a 1997 civil case. 18 Jul 2017 Pictured: O.J.
