  • EXCLUSIVE: Erramatti Mangayamma, 73, was so desperate and determined to have a baby that she ‘underaged herself’ to avoid the chances of being ruled out for the IVF treatment. "She lied about her age to avail the treatment. But after fact-checking with her husband and kin, who in turn submitted her school records, we discovered that she was born on September 1, 1946. And we got to know about this after she conceived,” said Dr. S Umashankar, who headed the team of doctors at Ahalya Nursing Home in the southern Indian Andhra Pradesh state's Guntur town. The doctors told the family that they have to live in the hospital during the entire course of pregnancy. “I told her husband that I cannot let you go home as they would jeopardise our treatment plan,” said Dr Uma Shankar.
Erramatti and her husband were fine with that arrangement. “But we didn’t know how to organise funds for such a pro-longed treatment and stay at the hospital.
It was then the hospital administration told us that we don’t need to worry about the expenses as the entire cost of treatment would be borne by the hospital trust,” said the new mother. The hospital authorities knew that they were staring at an even bigger challenge after they discovered that woman was carrying twins. It was a double whammy for the team. First the woman was 73 and not 65 as claimed by her and secondly, she had conceived twins. “We formed three teams for her. One to look at her nutrition status, second one looked at her cardiac and other health parameters and the third one looked into her pregnancy status,” said Dr Uma Shankar. So finally six-decade-long wait came to end. Mangayamma gave birth to two healthy baby girls on Sept. 5 morning. “Now, no one call me sterile. I thank god and the doctors who have this possible,” said an emotional Erramatti struggling to hold back her tears. Hailing from Nelapartipadu village in East Godavari district, Mangayamma was childless after 54 years of marriage. Sh

Sh

• November 3, 2018 - Fuerstenfeldbruck, Bavaria, Germany - The vest of the A.S. security company in Unterfohring that handles the premises and is accused of violence and harassment of the residents100 . Furthermore, an employee of this company attempted to confiscate the cameras and memory cards of a press photographer outside of the facility, despite no authority to do so. Migrants at the Fuerstenfeldbruck housing facility near Munich held a rally protesting alleging abuse by security staff and stays lasting two years or more instead of the maximum of six months. The Fuerstenfeldbruck camp has been a flash point for conflicts for several years, with the predominantly African residents being involved in numerous altercations with security and staff. Sources state that the migrants housed there have a low perspective to stay or pending deportation orders and such a situation, along with extended stays, leads to conflict. The group Refugee Struggle for Freedom recently released a partial video alleging an attack by several security workers against a resident. Upon return to the camp, an unrelated fight broke out requiring police and medical assistance. It was at this point that a member of the security team approached a member of the press and aggressively demanded an end to photographing and also attempted to confiscate the cameras and memory cards. The guard gave up the attempts when the photographer indicated that only the police can give such orders, which they did not. (Credit Image: © Sachelle Babbar/ZUMA Wire)

The family of Herring alleges that she was the victim of long-term harassment by a “homophobic” neighbor, while the police allege that she held a knife and injured at least one officer with it. Prior to the fatal incident, there was another knife incident on the premises involving Herring and a neighbor. ..Currently, police are investigating and if non-lethal methods were used before the fatal shooting. "Everything is unsettled right now. ... When we go back to work, it's going to be a bit like starting the business all over again," he says. The same thing is true at the centre, he adds. • Abrey Arendse, Operational Manager at De Doorns Clinic, a Western Cape government facility, stands outside the fenced clinic premises, where the staff has painted social-distancing lines on the ground, Wednesday May 6, 2020. And, she, herself, greets everyone to see who needs to come inside the clinic right away, including the elderly, very sick, pregnant ladies and disabled people.
