  • April 30, 2019 - Sao Paulo, Brazil - A statement by President Jair Bolsonaro asking for lower interest rates at Banco do Brasil (BB) put a brake on the bullish move of the Bovespa Index yesterday. The stock market closed the trading session with a fall of 0.05% at 96,187.75 points. During his participation in the opening of Agrishow, Bolsonaro defended the reduction of Banco do Brasil's interest in the promotion of rural credit. The president addressed the president of BB, Rubem Novaes, and, in a tone of good humor, said: ''I appeal, Rubem, to your heart and patriotism, that these interests fall a little more.'' Bolsonaro said during the event that the government will release R $ 1 billion into the rural insurance program, but did not give details about the credit. The statement on interest had immediate effect on Banco do Brasil's shares, which abandoned the bullish signal with which they had been operating and contaminated the other shares of the financial sector. For the exclusive few who can stomach the price, the sumptuous feast will be held on Super Bowl Sunday [4 February, 2018] at the Old Homestead Steakhouse in New York’s Meatpacking District. The hefty price buys a luxurious dinner buffet for 10 people, who will watch the Philadelphia Eagles take on the New England Patriots on a private floor of the restaurant, while dining on some of the world’s most expensive food and alcohol. There are also some non-edible amenities included as part of the package, such as four tickets to next year’s Super Bowl LIII, a Tom Brady autographed helmet and a football signed by the victors of this year’s game. The food spread includes all manner of decadent morsels. At kick-off, almost $5,000-worth of imported Japanese Prized Wagyu beef will be served to the party and carved to order — a 20lb slab at $450/lb. “You and your pals will be doing an end zone dance before the first touchdown is scored,” said Old Homestead co-owner and chef Marc Sherry, who explained that guests will be picked up in a limousine and driven to the restaurant as part of the experience. • June 24, 2017 - London, UK - London, UK. 24th September 2017. Two of the around 40 EDL protesters get their flag ready outside the Wetherspoons pub on Whitehall. Later police escorted them to Charing Cross and down a backstreet to the Embankment where they were to hold a rally. Earlier police had moved several hundred anti-fascist counter-protesters organised by UAF from their route down to a separate area of the Embankment a short distance away where they continued to protest noisily against the EDL until the police escorted them back to Charing Cross station. Both EDL and UAF had conditions for their protests imposed on them under Section 12 and 14 of the Public Order Act, 1986, due to concerns of serious public disorder, and disruption to the community. • June 24, 2017 - London, UK - London, UK. 24th September 2017. Several hundred attended Unite Against Fascism's protest against the EDL, some gathering on the corner of Northumberland Avenue close to the advertised WDL meeting point at Charing Cross where only a handful of the EDL turned up, with rather more meeting at the Wetherspoons on Whitehall. There were a few minor scuffles with EDL protesters on their way to the pub, but several hundred police kept the two groups apart, moving the UAF down to their assigned rally point on the Embankment before escorting the EDL to another location a couple of hundred yards away. After the EDL had been escorted back to the station, the UAF marched to join the women's rally at Downing St against Theresa May's collusion with the UDP to prop up her minority government.
