  • By Dinesh Dubey in India A newborn baby weighing just 400 grams has survived after her premature birth and gained normalcy after completing a six-month-long clinical course, with her parents and doctors having struggled hard to keep her alive and healthy. The girl was discharged from the hospital in Udaipur on Thursday. Neonatologist Sunil Janged, who led a team of doctors and nursing staff for ensuring the girl's incredible survival, claimed that she was the smallest newborn baby to survive in India and South Asia. The last reported such survival was a baby, Rajni, weighing 450 grams, at Mohali in 2012. The girl, named Manushi by the nursing staff of Vivanta Children's Hospital, was born to a couple married for 35 years. When her mother’s blood pressure became uncontrollable halfway through her pregnancy and the ultrasonography revealed absence of blood flow to the foetus, a caesarean section was conducted on her on June 15, 2017. Baby Seeta is the smallest baby ever to survive not in India but also in South Asia. Doctors calls her "our miracle baby", saying: "She’s just fought and fought and fought against all the odds. But she’s made it." Born to a couple married for 35 years, when her blood pressure was uncontrollable halfway through her pregnancy and the ultrasonography revealed fetoplacental insufficiency [ absent blood flow to fetus. So she was taken up for emergency caesarean section on June 15,2017. Baby Seeta weighed just 400 grams and measured just 8.6 inches when she was born, her minuscule feet only slightly bigger than a fingernail. She was not breathing when she was born. But the couple decided to fight to keep her alive. “When the baby was born, we were uncertain of what could happen,” Dr Sunil Janged, Chief Neonatologist said. The baby required artificial breathing support to regularize her breathing and then she was quickly transferred to Jivanta neonatal ICU. The baby was managed & looked after at Jivanta Neonatal ICU under precise care

  • August 22, 2017 - inconnu - A motorcycle bus able to link small remote towns where roads are narrow, has been unveiled. The Siroco is a gyroscopic motorcycle-bus designed to carry multiple passengers at a time. Even though the body is around the size of a city bus—it would stay upright due to its advanced gyroscopic technology and a smart auto pilot control system.Canada-based Imaginactive designer Charles Bombardier said :” The Siroco is made to offer the same feeling as riding a motorcycle while it carries a dozen people in climate-controlled comfort. “Its panoramic windows would offer an excellent view of the countryside and LCD screens could be embedded in the window panels to stream online shows and movies, provide information about location and travel times for example. He added:” The fact that this vehicle has only one row of wheels would allow it to take on curves faster, take less space on the road, and save energy with an aerodynamic body. “The Siroco could be used to transport passengers between smaller towns with a population of less than 15,000 people and ride on existing narrow roads. Its suspension system could be designed to ride on rougher terrain or smooth pavement. The current seating arrangement is one centre aisle with a single row of seats on each side. The gyroscopic technology would permit the Siroco to stay upright at any speed, and it would balance itself when it’s turning or when weight of the passengers isn’t distributed equally within. The internal battery pack could also move with a motor to help adjust the centre of gravity. An onboard computer would calculate in real time the orientation, acceleration turbulence, and vibrations and make adjustments to make the ride more enjoyable for its passengers. The Siroco could be used to ferry passengers on routes that are not being serviced by major bus lines today. Its operating cost would be lower than a regular bus—if you factor in occupancyâ

  • October 3, 2017 - Space - Crew members installed hardware to grow another crop of vegetables in space. NASA astronaut JOE ACABA prepared the Veggie facility for three different kinds of lettuce seeds as part of the VEG-03-D investigation. This is the first time seeds from multiple kinds of plants are being grown in the facility all at the same time. Understanding how plants respond to microgravity is an important step for future long-duration space missions, which will require crew members to grow their own food. Crew members on the station have previously grown lettuce and flowers in the facility. This new series of the study expands on previous validation tests. (Credit Image: ? Adhan is called out by a Muezzin from the mosque five times a day, before dawn, mid afternoon, before dusk, after dusk and when its dark later. The main purpose behind the multiple loud pronouncements of Adhan in every mosque is to make available to everyone an easily intelligible summary of Islamic belief. These days loudspeakers are used on minarets for this purpose. The Mosque in Muir Street, has had a single "noise pollution" complaint lodged against them at the City of Cape Town, which is obliged, in terms of the law, to investigate. ‘’The Adhan is extremely spiritual to us and has a major meaning to us…’’, says Nizaam Raynard about Adhan and what it means in his Muslim religion.
