  • Reese Witherspoon’s daughter shows off her trendy university dorm room after teaming up with Amazon Off To College to decorate her room. The 19-year-old student — who since last fall has been studying at the University of California, Berkeley — is gearing up for her sophomore year of college and has collaborated with Amazon Home. Ava, whose father is actor Ryan Phillippe, explained: ‘Because the moving process at my university happens so quickly, I only had a few days to get moved in and settled. I was able to purchase all of my dorm and school essentials from Amazon’s Off to College storefront and get my items delivered fast with my Prime Student membership.’ For her dorm room, Ava picked some of her favorite Amazon items including Rivet Throw Pillow, Amazon Echo Dot, Now House by Jonathan Adler Wink Tray, UGG Bliss Sherpa Throw, and more. Ava went on: ‘In between classes, I often come back to my dorm to get some reading done. I'm absolutely obsessed with my cotton Calvin Klein duvet from Amazon’s Off to College storefront. It's like laying on your favorite t-shirt while studying!’ Speaking about her being a student, Ava said: ‘One of my favorite aspects of college is the freedom to create your own class schedule. While it’s exciting that every week day is different, it sometimes makes it challenging to keep track of my schedule. I've been using my Amazon Echo to set reminders I need for class, set alarms, and keep me organized.’ Students can shop college essentials and dorm room must-haves for life on campus all on Amazon’s Off to College storefront. • zReportage.com Story of the Week # 635 - The Fall of Mosul - Launched July 5, 2017 - Full multimedia experience: audio, stills, text and or video: Go to zReportage.com to see more - The United Nations estimates that tens of thousands of civilians are still trapped inside the Old City of Mosul. In the weeks leading up to the operation to retake the Old City the UN and human rights groups warned the Iraqi government against the use of 'wide-area' explosive weapons, where houses are tightly packed and the civilian population is dense. A commander from the Iraqi Rapid Response Division stated of the thousands of civilians still trapped inside the old city, many are believed to have been brought from other areas by ISIS to be used as human shields. Iraqi forces reduced their advance through the last streets in Mosul controlled by Islamic State (ISIS) where militants and civilians are jammed in tightly together into a shrinking rectangle no more than 300 by 500 meters beside the Tigris river, their last holdout in Mosul. But the resistance and fighting has been fierce. The number of Islamic State militants fighting in Mosul, by far the biggest city it has ever controlled, has dropped from thousands at the start of the U.S. backed offensive over eight months ago to just a couple of hundred, according to the Iraqi military. With Mosul gone, the group's territory in Iraq will be limited to a few areas west and south of the city where some tens of thousands of civilians live. • June 6, 2017 - inconnu - A hammock that can be mounted on a car roof is set to make exploring a more comfortable experience. The US-designed TrailNest collapsible roof-top stand lets a hammock be used just about anywhere.The main reason is sometimes there are no trees – such as in desserts, grassy plains or snowfields.The stand gives adventurers somewhere to hitch their hammock and also provides an elevated view of the surrounding area.The stands attach to car roof bars and each stands holds up to 250 pounds in weight / just over 113 kilos.Inventor Chris Blackthorn said he got the idea after taking his hammock for a drive through the Mojave dessert.He explained it is renowned for beautiful desert vistas but not for an abundance of trees. He added:”Searching the desert, I finally found a withered trunk with just enough tenacity to suspend one end of my hammock while the other hung from my roof rack. “The view of the cloudless, starlit sky was beautiful, even if the location near my lone tree was otherwise less than ideal. “My peaceful solitude was not to last, however, as shortly after dozing off I was awakened by an inquisitive band of coyotes who were persistent enough to return repeatedly throughout the night.“Upon returning home I began to look at roof top tents, hoping to gain some separation above curious wildlife. “The idea of a tent on the warm summer nights didn’t sound much better than my sleeping platform, though.“I decided that some experiments were in order, and began the design and construction of the hammock stand.“I am finally ready to share with everyone the joy that my hammock stand has added to my overland journeys. “Pulling into camp each night, I finally feel an excitement that was previously lacking, and I can't wait to stretch out each night in a spacious hammock. “The rooftop vantage elevates me above my surroundings and I fall asleep to views that I will remember for decades

Under guidance from a National Park Service Ranger they removed spotted knapweed and prickly lettuce, leaving the native goldenrod. As temperatures soared into the mid 90's they took frequent water breaks. They did a similar project last year in early October and the weather was cold and nasty. They moved it to the first day of fall this year only to have it turn out to be one of the hottest days of the year. (Credit Image: © Glen Stubbe/Minneapolis Star Tribune via ZUMA Wire)

  • Hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean typically start to develop off the west coast of Africa, then move westward across the basin and intensify as they approach North America or the islands of the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. In the last days of August 2015, that storm development process went into overdrive.<br />
On August 30, an easterly wave from the African interior moved out over the Atlantic, where sea surface temperatures hovered around 30° Celsius (86° Fahrenheit). The unusually warm waters provided fuel for a storm that progressed from tropical depression to tropical storm to hurricane in roughly one day.<br />
According to several reports, Fred appears to be the easternmost hurricane to form in the tropical Atlantic during the satellite era. (Extra-tropical Hurricane Vince formed briefly off Portugal in 2005.) It is also believed to be the first hurricane to hit Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) islands since 1892. The storm did not cause any casualties, nor did it make direct landfall on any of the islands, but it did cause flash flooding and extensive wind damage. As much rain was predicted to fall in one day as the islands typically receive in half a year, though totals are not yet available.<br />
The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA's Terra satellite acquired this natural-color image of Fred off the west coast Africa at 11:15 a.m. Cabo Verde time (12:15 Universal Time) on August 31, 2015. The storm was at peak intensity when the image was acquired, with sustained wind speeds of 75 knots (85 miles or 140 kilometers per hour) and a central pressure of 986 millibars. It was a category 1 storm on the Saffir-Simpson scale.<br />
The MODIS instrument on Terra got a look at Fred's remnants on September 1. Now a tropical storm, it is expected to linger for much of the week and slowly devolve into a tropical depression as it moves north and west.<br />

Hurricane Nicole was a powerful category 4 hurricane that ripped through Bermuda last week with winds up to 115mph.<br />
<br />
A storm surge was expected to raise water levels by six to eight feet above normal tides, and five to eight inches of rain are expected to fall over the island through Thursday evening, Fox reported.<br />
After Loescher took photos of the Giant Spiny lobster, it was released safely back into the ocean.<br />
<br />
It's unclear how old the lobster is, but marine experts say they can live to be about 70 years old<br />
<br />
The largest lobster ever caught weighed 44 pounds and was captured in 1977, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. <br />
That giant lobster was caught off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada.<br />

A storm surge was expected to raise water levels by six to eight feet above normal tides, and five to eight inches of rain are expected to fall over the island through Thursday evening, Fox reported.<br />
After Loescher took photos of the Giant Spiny lobster, it was released safely back into the ocean.<br />
<br />
It's unclear how old the lobster is, but marine experts say they can live to be about 70 years old<br />
<br />
The largest lobster ever caught weighed 44 pounds and was captured in 1977, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. <br />
That giant lobster was caught off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada.<br />

  • These harrowing photographs show injuries Amber Heard claims she sustained at the hands of her then-husband Johnny Depp after telling him she was going to leave him. The photos — filed at a court in Virginia by Heard’s legal team — form part of a bombshell dossier as a rebuttal to Depp’s $50million defamation lawsuit against his former wife. Graphic images show Amber with facial abrasions, bruises, and clumps of hair missing following an incident which allegedly happened days before Christmas in Los Angeles in December 2015, just nine months after the pair married. In the deposition Amber, 32, claims Depp, 55, attacked her at their Los Angeles penthouse before friends were due to arrive She claims that at one point he dragged her by the hair, onto their marital bed, and beat her while screaming: 'I'll f*****g kill you, you hear me?'  Describing what happened next, Heard claims in the legal document: 'Hoping to avoid the violence, I tried to calm Johnny down, and then went upstairs to try to remove myself from the situation. 'Johnny followed me, hit me in the back of my head, grabbed me by my hair again, got in front of me on the steps, and then dragged me by my hair up the last few steps.  'At the top of stairs, Johnny shoved me twice, which made me fear I would fall. I told Johnny that he had broken my wrist in an attempt to get him to stop. 'Johnny kept hitting me, and each time he knocked me down, I chose to react by simply standing up and looking him in the eye. Johnny responded by yelling: "Oh, you think you’re a f***ing tough guy?" 'He reeled back and head-butted me in my face, bashing my nose, which immediately began bleeding, sending searing pain through my face. I instantly started tearing up, and I thought that I would have to go to the hospital.  'I told Johnny I wanted to leave him, and that I would call the police if he ever touched me again. When I began to walk away toward the guest apartment, he responded by pushing me, then grabbed me a
