  • Madame Tussauds has unveiled this new Doctor Who exhibition which features a life-like wax replica of actress Jodie Whittaker. The immersive new zone, at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool, in the north of England, includes the figure and the TARDIS. Jodie, 36, is the first female incarnation of the The Doctor in the hit sci-fi TV series since it first aired in 1963. She was involved with the creation of the life-like wax figure, attending a sitting and ensuring every detail had been perfectly replicated, according to Madame Tussauds. Jodie - whose debut performance as the time-travelling alien was watched by 8.2 million people as the new series of the BBC show aired - said: “It’s an incredible honour to become part of the Madame Tussauds family, they’ve done such an amazing job." General Manager, Matthew Titherington said: “We are thrilled to announce the addition of a Doctor Who area to the attraction and welcome the first female Doctor Who wax figure. “The show has a hugely loyal following, not only in the UK but across the world." • The brave female athletes have been branded the "Voices of Courage" after they spoke out against the abuse they suffered at the hands of USA gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar. According to the magazine: "One woman spoke out, another listened. That helped put an end to the abuse Larry Nassar inflicted for more than 20 years. Meet the survivors, including Aly Raisman and Rachael Denhollander; as well as Detective Andrea Munford, Assistant Attorney General Angela Povilaitis, and Judge Rosemarie Aquilina who told the world: Believe women." This year's winners also include Janelle Monae, Viola Davis and Chrissy Teigen. Others included in the list are Betty Reid Soskin and Manal al-Sharif. The December issue of the magazine will feature all of the women from the list, including the incredible Reid Soskin, 97, who is the oldest United States National Park Ranger.
