  • EXCLUSIVE: SILVER SCREEN - MEET THE HUSBAND AND WIFE COUPLE WHO RETIRED AND DECIDED TO BECOME MOVIE STARS WITH PIX By Magnus News Agency Meet the husband and wife who decided when they retired to try something new in life - so they became MOVIE STARS. Gilbert Newton, 73, and wife Joy, 63, have been married since 1978 but never once imagined they’d be rubbing shoulders with Hollywood greats in their golden years. The couple have worked on nearly 100 films, TV shows, commercials and promotions since signing up to become extras. Far from slowing down, now one or the other of the pair is usually working on something seven days a week and they can be up at 4am to travel to location for filming. Gilbert, a former sales executive, and Joy, a former teacher, from London, say they both love their new jobs so much they don’t have any time for the usual hobbies of retirement. Gilbert has appeared on screen in films such as Genius, Florence Foster Jenkins and Kingsman: The Golden Circle and Joy has graced screens on the biggest show on earth appearing in American football Super Bowl advert in 2017. Gilbert said: “The first film I went for was Genius with Colin Firth and Jude Law. The agent gave me the details and booked me there and I arrived. “It’s was a completely new experience and nothing like I’d done before, but people were very nice, I’ve worked with nice people in the past but in a different industry, and with the extra work everyone is nice to you and saying you look good on screen and that sort of thing. “And I was featured in the film, I didn’t realise at first, but this was my first film and I got some screen time. “Jude Law and Colin Firth were the actors on the day, we stand pretty close to each other in a lot of the scenes. We’re not supposed to go up and speak to the actors because they’ve got things going on in their head and they don’t want to be distracted. “It was in a nightclub supposed to be in New York, but it was in London som

  • By Sudipto Maity in India A man was arrested by police in India's central Madhya Pradesh state after reports emerged of him inserting a rubber grip of a moped handle into his wife's privates. The heinous crime took place two year's ago, but hit the headlines after the victim reached hospital in Indore city, unable to bear the excruciating pain. Fortunately for her, doctors at the Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital were able to extract the handle out of her body after a grueling four-hour-long operation, but, her condition still remains critical. The grip reached the 30-year-old victim's urine bladder, uterus and small intestine, causing an infection that had spread into the area as the rubber remained stuck. Doctors said if not operated, the infection would have spread to other body parts as well. The said operation was led by Dr S Bhattacharya. Others, included Dr. R K Mathur, Dr. S Moses, Dr. S S Sharma, Dr. S Verma, Dr. S Joshi, Dr. A Solanki, Dr S Memon, Dr. K S Tiwari, Dr. D Shukla, Dr. P Dayal, Dr. K Arora and Dr. P Jain. The man had committed the crime after the couple got into an argument over his alleged extra marital affair. Reports said the accused was so angry with the wife's behavior, he decided to get her drunk and insert the rubber grip. Strangely, the woman kept the incident hidden till the pain became unbearable for her and had to take help of doctors. Earlier, she had even complained to the police against her husband's unruly behaviour, which she alleged fell into deaf ears. The victim had also contemplated checking up with the doctors, but refrained as she fell short of cash. However, when the infection spread and made it difficult for her to walk, she decided to get herself treated. The accused has been identified as Prakash Bhil. The couple fell in love and tied the knot in 2005. Together, they have six children, five daughters and a son. Prakash works in a band. The woman said she grew suspicious after reports of her husband dating another woman, Ra

  • Soleil Moon Frye has cause for double celebration after reaching her weight goal of dropping 42lbs — appropriately just in time for her 42nd birthday. The Punky Brewster star, who has four children with her television producer husband Jason Goldberg, showed off the results as she celebrated her birthday poolside with her best friends in Venice Beach, California. Soleil shed the pounds with the help of meal delivery and weight-loss plan Nutrisystem, for which she is an ambassador. The actress, who turned 42 on August 6, was pictured with her best friends taking a dip in the pool, and also enjoyed a spot of spa time, shopping and dining. Soleil joined the Nutrisystem plan in 2015, the year following the birth of her third child, son Lyric Sonny Roads, and turned to the program once again after the birth of her second son, Story, the next year. Along with eating healthily, Soleil — who also has two daughters, Poet Sienna Rose and Jagger Joseph Blue — works out with a trainer so she can focus on toning her body.  She said: ‘After Story was born, I knew I wanted to join Nutrisystem again to help me lose the baby weight since it worked so well the first time. This last year, I’ve been focused on keeping up with my health habits and wanted to get those last few pounds off. ‘I’m excited to say that I am finally at my goal weight of 42 pounds lost! ‘For me, it’s about feeling like my best self and I feel better than now I did in my twenties.’ Talking about juggling four kids with her weight loss goal, Soleil went on: ‘I’m also a busy mom of four beautiful kids and I know I need to lead by example so I’m not going to starve myself in front of them. ‘We love cooking as a family, and being able to teach my kids about food is a great way for me to stay on track, but also show them that mommy is healthy and happy.’  Speaking about her birthday celebration in Los Angeles. • EXCLUSIVE: By Sherbien Dacalanio in Philippines A Filipino family is desperately trying to raise funds required for separation of their conjoined twins attached at the forehead despite the risk of them dying in the operation. Chiara and Charina, 7, from Roxas in Palawan, were born with craniopagus. The conjoined wins’ struggle starts with waking up and till the time they go to sleep. In between of everything, whatever daily chores everyone does is excruciating painful and difficult for them. From bathing, to eating, while going to school, they need to manage their heads that is stuck to each other sharing an artery. Sonia Nortega, 37, the mother of twins, says: “We conducted a series of medical procedure on the twins, such as MRI and CT Scan. Much to our dislike, the reports suggest that it will be a risky affair to separate Chiara and Charina. In the arterial studies there is clear arterial crossover and sharing between the twins.
