El Colacho is a traditional festival held annually in the town of Castrillo de Murcia (Burgos, Spain). It has been held uninterruptedly since 1621. It consists of a day in which the Colacho, a grotesque character dressed in a botarga of colors and covered by a mask, is sent, in representation of the devil, to whip with a pony tail to the people of the town Who insults him. Along the way the locals raise altars of flowers so that, in its wake, the Colacho will stop and jump over the children who that year were born in Castrillo de Murcia.
