  • April 18, 2018 - Munich, Bavaria, Germany - During the night of April 17-18, the Munich Hauptbahnhof (train station) was closed for a large counter-terrorism training exercise, complete with the discharge of firearms, pursuits of suspects, and explosions.  The main exercise began at midnight and proceeded until 4am and was designed to simulate a terrorist commando unit attacking the Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), which the anti-terrorism units were instructed to neutralize. In total, 2,300 personnel from police, fire, and rescue .In order to prevent onlookers, the sides of the building were draped with tarps, along with trains on tracks to block views.
