  • EXCLUSIVE: Pic shows Australian emergency services before they rescued three UK tourists stranded on top of their camper van. Three British backpackers had to be rescued when they woke up in their camper van to find they were surrounded by croc infested floodwater. The unhappy campers called emergency crews around 6am (local time) today (TUES) when they became flooded at Green Patch, a camping ground south of Cairns, Queensland, Australia. Officers from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) arrived at the campsite to find three tourists – two male and one female - from the UK cowering on the roof of the Scooby-Doo-like coloured hire vehicle. It’s understood the Brits feared the water could be hiding man eating saltwater crocodiles which are common in Queensland and can grow up to 16-foot long. Nearby signs indicated that the area was a crocodile warning area and locals said there were resident reptiles in the murky water. • July 21, 2017 - Dachau, bavaria, germany - (photo: Sachelle Babbar) The head of the SPD and Kanzlerkandidat (candidate for the Chancellorship of Germany) visited the Dachau concentration camp grounds in order to pay respects on behalf of his SPD party to the victims of National Sozialism. Schulz then presented a memorial plaque (followed by a moment of silence) with inscriptions honoring the victims and those who defend democracy. At the end of the tour, a wreath was laid down at the International Memorial by Schulz, Markus Rinderspacher, Uli Grötsch, and Michael Schrodi. Other speakers included Dr. Gabrielle Hammermann of the Dachau Memorial..The Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Grounds lie approximately 20km north of Munich. The camp eventually came a “model”, which other camps were designed after. It was in operation from March 1933- April 1945 and 31,951 were reported as killed there. Dachau recently received international attention when the iconic “Arbeit macht Frei” gate was stolen in 2014, then recovered in Norway in 2016, and returned to the grounds in Feb. 2017. • **PREMIUM EXCLUSIVE** Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber are seen attending a fundraiser held at Gerard Butler's house for the Malibu Fire Relief in West Hollywood. The couple enjoyed themselves at the charity event. They arrived to Gerard's house at 6:30 P.M. and left at 10:15 P.M. Pizza seemed to be the main course at the fundraiser. Cindy is seen holding a slice of pizza in hand as they leave the house. Butler, Robin Thicke, and Miley Cyrus were among thousands who lost their homes to the blazes, which have killed at least 74 people across the state. Up to a thousand are still unaccounted for. The 300 star invited his A-list friends to his West Hollywood home for the cause, hoping to raise at least $1million for fire relief. Remains of at least 74 people have been recovered so far in California. 71 of the victims are from the Camp Fire around the Sierra foothills hamlet of Paradise and three are from the Woolsey Fire near Los Angeles. Of the dead, 13 victims are yet to be identified. The once picturesque town was home to nearly 27,000 residents before it was largely incinerated by the deadly Camp Fire on the night of November 8. More than a week later, a team of more than 9,000 firefighters have managed to carve containment lines around 45 percent of the blaze's perimeter, up from 35 percent a day earlier. The powerful fire razed through more than 142,000 acres in a little over a week. Nearly 12,000 homes and buildings, including most of the town of Paradise, were incinerated hours after the blaze erupted, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) has said. Thousands of additional structures are still threatened by the Camp Hill fire, and as many as 50,000 people were under evacuation orders at the height of the blaze. 17 Nov 2018 Pictured: Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. • November 15, 2018 - Paradise, California, U.S.: Arrested for trying going home! Paradise resident, CHARLIE MILES, 27, was sitting cross legged on the ground in handcuffs, with state rangers around him, after being arrested for trying to go home, Thursday. Miles, was on a desolate stretch of Skyway Road about halfway between his family's home, in the devastated town of Paradise and the church shelter in Chico, where he has been sleeping on a cot. His crime was trying to go back home. Miles was trying to see if anything was left of his and his parents trailers. Miles rose on the morning of Nov. 8 at 5:45 am. “I had coffee with my parents like I always do,” he said. “Then I was brushing my teeth and I looked up at the sky and it was gray. At that point, I started packing their stuff.” The flames soon chased them. “I was forced to drag everyone off the property,” he said. “My dad was helping my mom and I was carrying their belongings. There were trees exploding. People were trying to drive their cars out but they couldn’t. We have lost absolutely everything we owned,” The officers drove him back to the Chico City limits and set him free. “They didn’t give me a ticket or anything,” Miles said. He said a friend was able to return to their street and told him, everything is gone. Miles and his parents are but one of scores of victims of the deadliest wildfire in California history, the Camp Fire started Nov. 8th at crack of dawn, its death toll grew today to 77, while the number of people unaccounted is over thousand people. The blaze is now, two-thirds contained, after consuming some 150,000 acres. (Credit Image: © Renee C. Byer/Sacramento Bee via ZUMA Wire)

  • June 30, 2017 - Whitwell, Tennessee, U.S. - The Children's Holocaust Memorial at the Whitwell Middle School. In 1998, when students of Whitwell Middle School were having difficulty grasping the enormity of the number of Jews exterminated in the Holocaust, but having learned that Norwegians often wore paper clips as a silent expression of protest against Nazi occupation and solidarity with the Jews, one of the students suggested that the school should try to collect six million paper clips, one for each victim. After several years of collecting paper clips from all 50 states and all seven continents, their goal was met and exceeded. An actual German rail car used to transport people to the concentration camps was secured, and there are now 11 million paper clips inside the rail car, and another 11 million honoring the children who died in the Holocaust housed inside the monument that stands beside it. The butterflies on the grounds are a Christian symbol of renewal and of the Children of Terezin.(Credit Image: © Brian Cahn via ZUMA Wire)
