  • August 5, 2017 - Amsterdam, Netherland - On August 5th, 2017. Before and during the celebration of The Canal Parade in Amsterdam, an action called ''We Reclaim our Pride'', took place in one of the bridges of Amsterdam. The reason of this action is, that the Pride has become a celebration that involves the participation of certain corporations and political parties that are far removed from this fight for freedom. This action is oranizated by several groups that cannot celebrate the freedom of one group at the expense of the freedom of other groups. Although the LGBTQI+ movement has made significant progress since the Stonewall riots, there is still a lot to gain when it comes to the liberation from hetero/cis-normativity and sexism in the Netherlands. • May 7, 2017 - Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan - A participant attends the rainbow pride parade poses for portraits in Tokyo Thousands of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders (LGBT) and their supporters participated in the parade on Sunday to celebrate LGBT lifestyle and denounce prejudice and discrimination against sexual minorities. Amnesty International Japan released a proposal Tuesday May 2, 2017 to the government on measures that the country must take to tackle discrimination against LGBT people: hiding one’s sexual orientation or gender identity is still common, due to a fear of losing one’s job or facing discrimination, both in the public and the private sector. On health, they asked the government to remove gender identity from the classification of mental diseases, to abolish inappropriate requirements for obtaining legal gender recognition, to educate medical experts, and to set certain health treatments required by transgender people to be covered by the national health insurance and public health systems.
