  • January 21, 2019 - Lanham, MD, U.S - The so-called super wolf moon seen partially within Earth's umbra as the lunar eclipse heads towards totality. This full moon is referred to as a ''supermoon'' due to its larger apparent size as a result of it taking place near the moon's closest position to Earth, known as its perigee. It is referred to as a ''wolf'' moon because it is the first full moon in January. (Credit Image: © Evan Golub/ZUMA Wire)
