• June 16, 2017 - FILE PHOTO - Amazon has acquired Whole Foods, a move that marks the e-commerce giant's official entry into the world of physical stores as well as groceries. It's Amazon's biggest acquisition ever, paying $13.7 billion in cash for the grocery chain, which now operates some 465 stores across the U.S. Amazon has grown into a retail behemoth and has has been tip-toeing into bookstores and experimental convenience stores. Those efforts led to speculation that Amazon eventually would make a major acquisition of a chain, rather than slowly build out its own stores. That acquisition ended up being Whole Foods. • Jun 04, 2006; Hollywood, CA, USA; The Chateau Marmont has been a long time celebrity hotel favorite. Situated atop a hill and hidden by thick foliage, Marmont's lure is the feeling of seclusion, which is why everyone from Bogart to DeNiro has taken up residence. The French countryside-like castle mixes design elements from various periods - gothic arches, mid-century George Nelson lamps, art deco seating - for a highly eclectic vibe. Hotelier Andre Balazs' renovation during the early '90s removed a layer of shabbiness and restored the original bohemian veneer (Credit Image: © Marianna Day Massey/ZUMAPRESS.com)

 • The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA's Aqua satellite acquired this image showing
fall foliage along the Kolyma River in eastern Siberia on September 9, 2015. The lower image shows a broader view. Notice how no green vegetation remains visible in the northernmost part of the image. Meanwhile, valleys and other low-elevation areas still have plenty of green farther to the south.
In autumn, the leaves on deciduous trees change colors as they lose chlorophyll, the molecule that plants use to synthesize food. However, chlorophyll is not a stable compound and plants have to continuously produce it, a process that requires ample sunlight and warm temperatures. When temperatures drop and days shorten, levels of chlorophyll do as well.
Chlorophyll makes plants appear green because it absorbs red and blue sunlight as it strikes leaf surfaces. As concentrations of chlorophyll drop, the green fades, offering a chance for other leaf pigments - carotenoids and anthocyanins - to show off their colors. Carotenoids absorb blue-green and blue light, appearing yellow; anthocyanins absorb blue, blue-green, and green light, appearing red.
• April 25, 2017 - Cempedak, Indonésie - 25/04/2017 - A stunning private island resort is offering Robinson ruwo3-wstyle chalets made from bamboo and topped with thatched grass roofing. But the pictures, fittings and amenities on Cempedak in Indonesia , are anything but desert island basic. It offers amazing luxury and facilities with prices from $600 USD / 550 Euros / £470 GBP per room per night excluding board and drinks.Cempedak, which opened in March, is described as a unique private island with sustainability at theforefront of its ground-breaking design. It is reached only by private speed with the island's stunning hand-crafted bamboo villas just visible through the natural jungle-foliage.It has room for a maximum of 40 guests with an adults only policy. There are no televisions at the resort which has been slowly developed over several years to preserve the natural habitat and wildlife and where guests are encouraged to go barefoot. The name comes from the native Indonesian fruit tree. Local villagers initially explained to the owners that the island was renowned for the quality of its Cempedak. The owners of Cempedak also own neighbouring Nikoi island which was developed a few years previously.Impressed at the natural and unspoilt beauty of the area they acquired the titles to Nikoi Island in 2004. It was uninhabited - a true deserted island. Disenchanted with the standard of holiday accommodation on offer within close range of Singapore the owners set about developing the island to suit their ideal holiday destination.Nikoi Island opened in May 2007. In 2011 the title to Cempedak Island was acquired A spokesman said: The approach to developing it was to make it a sustainable venture in all respects. 'With the experience from the build of Nikoi Island they have been able to make improvements to the sustainability of the development.'The owners have deliberately tried to create a product outside of the mould of the cookie- cutter hotel model - a box with a che
