  • A McDonalds once branded the “ugliest building in Rotterdam” is enjoying a new lease of life as the poshest Maccies in the world. Looking more like a modern art gallery with glass floor-to-ceiling windows, this recently refurbished McDonalds in the Dutch city of Rotterdam is possibly the poshest in the world. Located on the iconic Coolsingel in the city’s “Cool District” - the fast-food eatery comes complete with grand central spiral staircase leading to the second floor and also boasts an outside terrace so customers can enjoy their Big Macs al fresco if they desire. The seats are upholstered in fine leather and the tables are made from marble while outside the perforated golden facade gives the location an extra special dazzling appeal and is a far cry from it’s former dated boxy appearance. The restaurant was completed at the end of 2015 after design firm Mei Architects were brought in to overhaul the dated building. And after a very fast construction the newly re-modeled building was completed in just two months. 09 Nov 2017 Pictured: This recently refurbished McDonalds in Rotterdam in The Netherlands is possibly the poshest in the world with floor-to-ceiling glass frontage and a perforated gold facade. • September 15, 2017 - Florida, U.S. - Three-year-old Jesus Miguel Francisco enjoys a free lunch with family members at Highland Elementary in Lake Worth Friday, September 15, 2017. Schools throughout Palm Beach County opened their doors on Thursday and Friday to share a free healthy breakfast and lunch after Hurricane Irma. Children under the age of 18, as well as the adult accompanying them, were welcome to eat. Children did not have to be a registered student of the District or of the school to receive a free meal. ''We had about 40 people for breakfast and about 67 for lunch yesterday,'' said assistant principal Erin Walsh. ''We are expecting the same today. Anybody who lives in the community, 18 and under, is welcome to come. I think people are coming for a nice cool place to sit and charge their devices as much as for the food. And it is good for kids to get back in the routine of coming back to school. (Credit Image: © Bruce R. Bennett/The Palm Beach Post via ZUMA Wire)
