• EXCLUSIVE: FULL COPY ON REQUEST: Sir Richard Branson’s new cruise ship Scarlet Lady sits forlornly at dock in Miami along with four other giant liners yesterday (Sunday) as the usually heaving terminals resembled ghost towns because of the coronavirus crisis. Miami is the world’s busiest cruise port with 5.5million passengers a year. But yesterday at 4pm – when ships traditionally sail amid fanfare and horns blasting their farewell – there was an eerie silence. The Florida cruise port is usually bustling with excited passengers, truck and van deliveries of food and drink, rammed parking lots and packed lines of taxis in a cacophony of noise and mayhem. Yet yesterday there was hardly a soul about. The parking garages were virtually empty, the usually crammed individual terminals were lifeless and the roads were deserted. Apart from a handful of departing passengers only a few dejected port workers, who are about to be laid off, were milling around. One of the ships at dock in Miami yesterday (March 15) is at the center of controversy after it was revealed it had a passenger who tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19. The passenger disembarked from MSC Meraviglia (correct) on March 8 after an eight-day Caribbean cruise. After the passenger got off, 103 others plus the vessels crew were left on board for the next voyage. Four days later, after the ship had sailed with thousands more people, the cruise line was told by Canadian authorities that the passenger had tested positive. Seven crew were isolated as a result. But instead of holding the ship off the Florida coast and testing everyone on board for COVID-19, MSC said US health authorities cleared the ship to dock in Miami yesterday (March 15) and for the 3,877 passengers to disembark as normal. As a result, thousands of people got off the ship without undergoing medical screening. 15 Mar 2020 Pictured: Cruise Ships. Photo credit: Greg Woodfield / MEGA TheMegaAgency.com +1 888 505 6342

 • *** PREMIUM EXCLUSIVE *** Lovebirds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle walked down the aisle on Friday - but only as guests at the Jamaican wedding of one of the Prince's closest friends. And after the ceremony, they were seen to tenderly embrace, with Meghan wrapping her arm around love-struck Harry. Wearing a navy blue suit and yellow corsage, Harry looked every bit the handsome Prince as he undertook his official usher duties at the ceremony at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Montego Bay. Meghan made the most of the Caribbean sunshine, sporting a flowery dress and sunglasses as she accompanied her beau at the wedding of Tom ‘Skippy’ Inskip and flame-haired literary agent, the Hon Laura Hughes-Young. Earlier in the day, Harry, 32, was seen on the beach in lime green board shorts, while Meghan wore a tiny turquoise bikini. The pair happily kissed and cuddled in front of pals before frolicking in the sea. Later 35-year-old Meghan enjoyed a glass of wine while Harry smoked cigarettes and chatted to his mates. • Hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean typically start to develop off the west coast of Africa, then move westward across the basin and intensify as they approach North America or the islands of the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. In the last days of August 2015, that storm development process went into overdrive.
On August 30, an easterly wave from the African interior moved out over the Atlantic, where sea surface temperatures hovered around 30° Celsius (86° Fahrenheit). The unusually warm waters provided fuel for a storm that progressed from tropical depression to tropical storm to hurricane in roughly one day.
According to several reports, Fred appears to be the easternmost hurricane to form in the tropical Atlantic during the satellite era. (Extra-tropical Hurricane Vince formed briefly off Portugal in 2005.) It is also believed to be the first hurricane to hit Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) islands since 1892. The storm did not cause any casualties, nor did it make direct landfall on any of the islands, but it did cause flash flooding and extensive wind damage. As much rain was predicted to fall in one day as the islands typically receive in half a year, though totals are not yet available.
The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA's Terra satellite acquired this natural-color image of Fred off the west coast Africa at 11:15 a.m. Cabo Verde time (12:15 Universal Time) on August 31, 2015. The storm was at peak intensity when the image was acquired, with sustained wind speeds of 75 knots (85 miles or 140 kilometers per hour) and a central pressure of 986 millibars. It was a category 1 storm on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
The MODIS instrument on Terra got a look at Fred's remnants on September 1. Now a tropical storm, it is expected to linger for much of the week and slowly devolve into a tropical depression as it moves north and west.
