  • May 16, 2017 - Fort Campbell, Kentucky, U.S. - By taking leave in May instead of April so he could see his little sister graduate from high school, Army Spc. Jesse Thepouhthay missed out on one of his favorite holidays -- New Year. Most Americans generally associate New Year's celebrations with Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. However, Thepouhthay and his family celebrate Laotian New Year in April. The tradition is carried on by his family in his home town in Arkansas. Food is an important part of the celebration, and missing out on spicy papaya salad this year was a bit of a disappointment, Thepouhthay said. Pictured: Army Spc. Complete with a touch-screen, the drone can be flown manually or at the touch of a button select a destination and the air vehicle takes over. It carries up to two people, is equipped with 16 electric engines and has a flight range of up to 25 minutes. Flight testing of the vertical take off and landing (VTOL) craft started in May before the first manned flight took place in August, footage of which was released this week as part of the official launch. A company spokesman explained: “The social and economic benefits of such a vehicle are numerous. “In cities around the world, traffic congestion costs commuters millions of hours every year and billions of dollars in lost productivity.” According to Passenger Drone, the average travel time to work in the United States is 25.4 minute, representing almost an hour every day. The company adds that the total cost of congestion to all drivers in the U.S. in 2016, including environmental costs, was $300 billion. The spokesman added: “On-demand aviation and manned drones has the potential to radically transform how we get from place to place, and to restore precious lost family and personal time to commuters worldwide. “Overall, the lower cost and improved flexibility provided by aerial drone technology may afford compelling solutions for individuals, businesses or governments worldwide.”. 03 Oct 2017 Pictured: California-based company Passenger Drone has launched a new automatic aerial vehicle that could revolutionize the daily commute. • This humongous swimming pool in Egypt is the largest in the world — the equivalent to a staggering 9,000 average home-sized pools. The 30 acre human-made pool, which holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest crystalline lagoon, is located in Sharm el Sheikh and as well as boasting crystal clear waters it is also surrounded by a white sandy beaches and more than two miles of shoreline. The pool is part of the first phase of a total 12 lagoons totaling 250 acres that will be the centerpiece of the USD $5.5 billion, 1,8500-acre Citystars project with residential apartments, hotels and shopping. The lagoon — made possible using patented water technology by U.S. based company Crystal Lagoons — gets its salt water supply from wells in the desert. Being so big, swimming is not the only activity on the agenda — it’s also perfect for sailing boats and kayaks. The sustainable water technology by Crystal Lagoons — which currently has 600 projects around the world — use 100 times less chemicals and 50 times less energy than a swimming pool. The pool and water treatment is controlled remotely by the company, limiting the need for on-site maintenance. The pool opened back in December 2015, superseding the former biggest swimming pool in the world at Chile’s San Alfonso del Mar Resort, also made by Crystal Lagoons. 13 Nov 2017 Pictured: The 30 acre human-made pool, which holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest crystalline lagoon, is located in Sharm el Sheikh and as well as boasting crystal clear waters it is also surrounded by a white sandy beaches and more than two miles of shoreline. • SHOPS selling bomb shelters have seen an explosion in sales in the U.S. due to the increased threat of a nuclear war with North Korea. Rising S Shelters, a company in Texas that sells and installs underground bunkers, have seen sales go up “200 per cent” in the last two weeks as the war of words between Donald Trump and despotic Kim Jung Un has reached a chilling new level. Owner Clyde Scott said: "I would say sales are up 200 per cent. So this week alone we sold eight. I normally sell about two a week, we are selling about eight a week right now. “North Korea is the only reason for the increase I've seen. Customers say they are worried Kim Jung Un has little man syndrome and Donald Trump has got to be right no matter what. “Even if he's wrong he's the kind of guy that won't back down even if it causes lots of devastation for his own people. His ego is too strong.” Rising S’s top seller is a 10ft by 50 ft steel bunker equipped with bunk beds, toilet, shower, air filtration and water heaters. They cost between $90-$120k. Clyde said: “Most people this past week are buying the bunkers that are between $90-120k dollars, that's for shelter delivery and installation.  “They've got the NBC air filtration system, which will protect you against a nuclear war, it has blast valves for explosions, it has water filtration in it. It has a solar power system which is just completely off the grid because we go into a major war like that we're going to lose all our power. "We manufacture, we deliver with our trucks and we install them with our crew. We don't use any outside contractors because of the secrecy of it. "You order one today I'll have it to you in about eight weeks.” Clyde says his customers used to be mostly right wing Christians worried the government would take away their property and guns - but since Trump got elected there has been an upturn in sales to Democrats and Hollywood celebrities. His company reportedly built a bunker for Kim and Kanye Wes

Owner Clyde Scott said: "I would say sales are up 200 per cent. So this week alone we sold eight. I normally sell about two a week, we are selling about eight a week right now. “North Korea is the only reason for the increase I've seen.
