EXCLUSIVE: **NO WEB** Princess Diana’s former lover James Hewitt cuts a rather shambolic figure as he’s spotted just days before Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle. Shirtless and wearing a pair of baggy cargo shorts and battered old shoes, the 60-year-old ex-Army captain and Gulf War veteran was seen outside the two-bedroom Exeter, Devon, flat he now shares with his widowed mother. Nicknamed the Cad after selling the story of his five-year affair with Diana, Hewitt has had a spectacular demise over the past two decades. Last year he publicly denied the speculation that has existed for years that he is Harry’s biological father. In an television interview, in which he was asked if he was Prince Harry’s biological father, he firmly responded: 'No, I'm not!'Asked about the rumours that have persisted for decades, he said: 'It sells papers. It's worse for him, probably, poor chap.' Princess Diana started her affair with Mr Hewitt after she asked him to be her horse riding instructor in 1986. Her secret relationship blossomed as rumours swirled around her husband Prince Charles, who was seeing his former flame Camilla Parker-Bowles at the time. The pair met at a party in London in 1986 when she was aged 25. He was 28. Three years later – in a now iconic image at the height of their affair – she was pictured presenting the Life Guards officer with a polo trophy. The couple were forced apart when he was sent to Iraq in the 1991 Gulf War and split after their affair was made public. Nearly two decades on and Hewitt is virtually broke, having lost two of his businesses, including a bar in Marbella, Spain, and a golf driving range.
