FILM TITLE: ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST. DIRECTOR: Milos Forman. STUDIO: UNITED ARTISTS. PLOT: A compelling, socially-conscious portrait of mental institution patients pitted against a tyrannical, sinister head nurse, adapted from Ken Kesey's celebrated 1962 novel. A free-spirited, rebellious convict Randle P. McMurphy (Jack Nicholson) feigns insanity to avoid a jail sentence, and is sent to an insane asylum. McMurphy proceeds to instigate group insurrections large and small, ranging from a restorative basketball game to an afternoon boat trip and a tragic after-hours party with hookers and booze. Nurse Ratched, however, has the machinery of power on her side to ensure that McMurphy will not defeat her. Winner of 5 Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Jack Nicholson), Best Actress (Louise Fletcher), Best Adapted Screenplay. PICTURED: JACK NICHOLSON, WILL SAMPSON, 'JUICY FRUIT.'
