Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh (left) meet former South African President, Nelson Mandela during a reception at Buckingham Palace, London, to mark the centenary of the Rhodes Trust, started by the 19th century entrepreneur, Cecil John Rhodes, which provides scholarships for students around the world to study at Oxford University. The former President of South Africa has entered into partnership with the Rhodes Trust, in its centenary year, to establish the Mandela Rhodes Foundation. At present, 93 scholars are selected from 24 countries each year for study at Oxford University.
