Journey to freedom continues for mother facing deportation
Add to Lightbox DownloadJuly 26, 2017 - New Haven, CT, USA - On Wednesday afternoon it was announced that Nury Chavarria, who was going to be deported back to Guatemala last week and was considered a fugitive by ICE, was granted an emergency stay. What was going to be a rally Wednesday evening to show continued support of Chavarria, turned into a celebration. Chavarria who has been staying in Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal in New Haven, is now able to return home to her children. She stands between faith leaders Pastor Hector L.
