Yasin the longest surviving militant and active from 1997 in Kashmir took the command of Hizbul Mujahideen after the death of its commander Burhan Muzafar Wani in July 2016. Three militants, two army soldiers and two civilians were killed while five soldiers sustained injuries in an 18-hour-long gunfight between government forces and militants in Awneera village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday August 13, police and reports said.
