August 21, 2017 - Singapore, Singapore - The USN Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain with damage to the portside of the hull docked at Changi Naval Base for emergency repairs in Singapore. The ship collided with the civilian merchant vessel Alnic MC while underway east of the Straits of Malacca resulting in significant damage and 10 sailors missing and believed dead.
