McCain with a damaged hull section is assisted into the dock at Changi Naval Base for emergency repairs August 21, 2017 in Singapore. The ship collided with the civilian merchant vessel Alnic MC while underway east of the Straits of Malacca resulting in significant damage and 10 sailors missing and believed dead.
