Antique restorer Cliff Ricketts cleaning the glass chandeliers which hang in the Ballroom at Buckingham Palace, London, in preparation for the 8 week (August 1 - September 28) summer opening of the palace state rooms to the public. * Six of the Palace s finest and largest chandliers hang in the Ballroom, where investitures and state banquets are held. Each is over a metre and a half in diameter and around four metres tall, weighs half a tonne, and consists of 9,000 pieces of lead crystal.
