JPC leader Kazuo Shii calls for efforts to denuclearize Korean Peninsula

April 18, 2018 - Tokyo, Japan - Japanese Communist Party leader Kazuo Shii speaks during a news conference at The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan (FCCJ) in Tokyo, Japan. Shii spoke about the summit meeting between North and South Korea on April 27, and other summit expected between the US and North Korean by the end of May. The leader of the Japanese Communist Party said that the primary goal of the negotiations should be the peace and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Meanwhile, South Korean media reported that the North and South Korea are preparing to announce officially the end of the 1950-53 Korean War during a summit next week.
