October 3, 2017 - Chicago, IL, USA - An article in the Chicago Tribune on January 8, 1946, on Page 5 is headlined ''12 AUTO THEFTS CONFESSED BY FORMER SEAMAN.'' The article said that Ben Paddock had confessed to stealing 12 automobiles. Paddock, aka Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, is the father of Stephen Paddock, who shot dead 59 people and injured 527 others from a Mandalay Bay hotel room in Las Vegas in 2017.
