Zhang Shifan, the inventor of face-kini, created the first face-kini in 2004 when she was inspired by the design of diving suit. She has been making efforts to combine Chinese elements including Peking opera facial make-up with the design of face-kini mask. Nowadays face-kini masks have become China¡¯s swimwear trend in beach.
