Anti-terrorism Exercise in Munich

April 18, 2018 - Munich, Bavaria, Germany - During the night of April 17-18, the Munich Hauptbahnhof (train station) was closed for a large counter-terrorism training exercise, complete with the discharge of firearms, pursuits of suspects, and explosions. The main exercise began at midnight and proceeded until 4am and was designed to simulate a terrorist commando unit attacking the Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), which the anti-terrorism units were instructed to neutralize.
