Hollywood funnyman Jim Belushi has knocked $8.5 million off the price of his huge $38.5 million-dollar estate in Brentwood, California.
The property is now available for $29.995 million without half-an-acre of land. Real estate sources expect Belushi to now sell the parcel of land for development. The villa-style mansion sits behind gates and is reached by a cobblestone driveway.
Garden courtyards, creeping vines and salvaged clay-roof tiles give the home an ‘Old World’ ambiance.
The 11,821 square feet of living space was designed by former White House decorator Michael Smith and features reclaimed fireplace mantels, hand-hewn hardwood floors and custom ironwork.
In the common rooms, the walls are finished in Venetian plaster.
Inside there are six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a centre-island kitchen, an office/den, a home cinema, a sauna and a bar room lined with glass-fronted and temperature-controlled wine, booze and cigar storage cabinets.
The grounds, measuring about an acre, include dining areas, walking paths, two outdoor fireplaces, a pool house with a Jacuzzi and cold plunge sits near the swimming pool. There’s also a detached two-room guest house. Belushi bought the property for just $8.3 million in 2007.
