June 13, 2018 - Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina - Outside the National Congress, joy and celebration as the Low House debates an abortion law. The bill would pass tightly with 129 votes against 125 and the last word is now in the Senate. Unofficial statistics claim that around 500000 illegal abortions are performed yearly in Argentina, with a number of deaths or severe consequences to the women's health that's difficult to calculate due to the illegality of the abortion and the fear of prosecution of both women and doctors.
