Memorial Day Commemorated in Israel

The Dakar, a World War II British submarine, purchased by Israel in 1965, was lost en route to Israel on 25 January 1968 with her entire 69 man crew. Families, friends and comrades in arms pay respects and mourn the fallen at the Mount Herzl Military Cemetery on Memorial Day, Yom Hazikaron for Israel’s fallen servicemen and victims of terror attacks, commemorating 23,646 fallen.
