Courtney Love and daughter Frances Bean are trying to block the release of graphic police photos of Kurt Cobain’s body following his death 23 years ago. Authorities ruled at the time that the troubled 27-year-old singer committed suicide by shooting himself in the mouth in April 1994 at his Lake Washington Boulevard Home in Seattle. However journalist and conspiracy theorist Richard Lee has spent the last 23 years trying to prove Cobain was murdered. Seattle Police released previously unseen photos of the suicide scene to back in 2014 to mark the 20th anniversary of the Nirvana star’s death. And last year police released a further five images of the shotgun that Cobain used to take his own life. Lee is now trying to get police to release more graphic photos from the scene that purportedly show Kurt’s body “as it lay in the family residence after he was shot in the head.” Cobain’s family, however, are trying to block the release, arguing that making such images public “would not only exacerbate the post-traumatic stress Frances Bean Cobain has suffered since childhood but physically endanger her and her mother by encouraging more disturbed stalkers and fanatical threats”. Courtney, 53, further claims that Lee has “stalked and harassed” her family over the years and says she continues to “suffer emotionally from the loss of my husband to this day,” while Frances, 25, added that she has “has had to deal with the trauma of his death her entire life”. It comes after the National Enquirer made bombshell claims last year that Cobain was murdered, claiming to have uncovered thirty hours of secretly recorded conversations between Courtney and private detective Tom Grant, who was hired by Courtney while Kurt was missing in the days before his body was discovered. According to the National Enquirer, Grant says there was a motive for the “murder” and claims the couple had been headed for divorce. Cobain’s body was discovered on April 8, 2014 by
