  • South Africa - Cape Town - 08 July 2020 -  The N1 was closed in the direction of Paarl after two trucks were set alight around 1.45am on Wednesday, with motorists advised to make use of alternative routes. Both the N7 and N1 were affected by protests yesterday after a nationwide call for truck drivers to stop operating to protest the employment of foreign national drivers. The truck drivers also threatened to shut down the whole country. The truck drivers claim South African companies choose to employ foreign nationals for lower wages, who they claim make up about 90% of the workforce. All Truck Drivers Forum spokesperson Michael Masimini says employers are contravening the Employment Services and Immigrant Act while thousands of South Africans have no work.   • South Africa - Cape Town - 7 July 2020 - Just before midnight on Monday evening WSAR was alerted to a vehicle which was parked on Lower Tafelberg Road. The user of that vehicle's friends had raised the alarm that this trail runner may be on Table Mountain. Members of WSAR got together and they in conjunction with the overdue person's friends decided to do a search of the contour path and the path down to the blockhouse. A vehicle also drove the road towards the block house. Weather conditions were not good. Shortly after midnight the teams the family reported that the missing person' s cellphone appeared to be on the Clifton side of Lion's Head. Further searchers moved up from a temporary base at Nettleton Road. The search on that side had no result. Fresh searches were done on the contour path. The teams stood down just before 04:00 on Tuesday morning. The search was resumed this morning with 5 teams out. They are shown an educational video on how the school will operate and what they need to do to stay safe while at school. During break, there are demarcated areas where they exercise and if its a nice day, they will sit and have their lunch but for now they have their lunch in class. They remove their masks while eating, other than that they keep their masks on and a visor is optional. If a learner wants to use the toilet, the whole class lines up for the toilet break. The birds, who build several grass nests during their breeding season, varied and improved on their technique with each new nest. The SACP in the Western Cape is deeply shocked by the cowardly assassination of  Siyabulela Siswana, SACP Brian Bunting District Secretary, and his family at his home in Mfuleni, Cape Town, on Wednesday night  by unknown assailants. After sustaining severe wounds as a result of a hail of bullets Cde. Siyabulela, his daughter and wife were rushed to hospital.
