• South Africa Cape Town 27 October 2020 Cape Town To Bisho The Walk, Gerald Nomlala to walk from Cape Town Western Cape to Bisho in the Eastern Cape to donate school shoes. School shoes are no longer playing a luxury role to a child`s school life but a necessity that provides protection, comfort, respect and that sense of ownerships. Having your own shiny pair builds confidence and dignity which encourages children to attend school.Growing up and attending
school without shoes can either break a child`s future or destroy it completely. Kids with damaged shoes or with no shoes at all get ridiculed and end up not focusing on their school work thus leading to failing of grades, dropping out of school or opting for illegal practices. This is his personal story In the past 26 months he donated close to 14 000 pairs of shoes to children who are in need around South Africa. A founder of Kasi foundation will be embarking on a walk from Cape Town to Bisho with the aim to raising funds. These funds will help him to purchasing 30 000 school shoes and 40 classrooms which is an equivalent
of two schools. The journey will take about 7 weeks and it will commence on the 8th November 2020.Photographer Ayanda Ndamane AFrican News Agency(ANA)
